IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR THE MIX IT UP COMMUNITY Please take a moment to read and help us spread the word! We also want to say thank you for being part of this incredible community, for the journey so far, and for continuing to support what we’re building together.

First part of a Mix It Up community update that reads:
Hey everyone!

It’s been a little over 8 months since the last big community update, and I want to start this one differently.

Thank You

When we posted our announcement last August, we genuinely weren’t sure whether Mix It Up would survive more than a few weeks. The community’s response changed that immediately. The messages, the support, and the people who stepped up when we asked for help meant more than we can properly express. You didn’t just keep Mix It Up alive, you helped restore the momentum we had lost and reminded us why we started building this in the first place.

Here’s what that support made possible:
 • 15 updates delivered
 • 62 new features
 • 41 bug fixes
 • 34 performance and quality of life improvements

And beyond that:
 • We overhauled Discord support. Since then, we’ve handled over 1,000 tickets, with more than 90% answered within 24 hours.
 • Our most requested feature, Kick integration, is now in closed alpha and is expected to launch this month.
 • We built 4 internal prototypes to map out full cross-platform support (Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, iOS), laying the groundwork for true cross-device support.
 • We’ve reworked our infrastructure, cutting costs by ~20% while more than doubling performance.
 • We’re nearing completion of a new website, set to launch in the next few weeks, to centralize everything Mix It Up, including a full documentation portal.

In short, progress didn’t just resume. It accelerated, and we’re now building for the long-term, not just the next release.

All of this progress has come from reinvesting everything back into development and support. As the project grows, so does the cost of maintaining that pace....Achieving long-term sustainability is absolutely within reach, but only with sustained community support. It doesn’t require everyone, only a small percentage of the community choosing to support it.

Right now, our amazing Patreon members represent about 0.2% of active users.

Around 1% is where Mix It Up becomes self-supporting. Not in a growth sense, but literally in reliably maintaining and operating the project long-term without strain. This is the baseline we're aiming for that keeps everything running steadily.

At ~2%, we can start confidently investing in more resource-heavy features like remote management, cloud backups, and additional platforms like TikTok Live.

At ~5%, full-time focus becomes realistic, and development speed increases significantly across the board.

The gap between where we are and where we need to be is relatively small, and we’re confident we can reach it with continued community support. If we don’t reach sustainability, we’ll eventually need to make difficult decisions. That could include introducing premium tiers, moving resource-intensive features or services behind them, slowing development, or in the worst case, shutting the project down if it becomes unsustainable to maintain. None of these are outcomes we want, but they are the practical realities of running and scaling a project like this long-term.

If Mix It Up has been valuable to you or part of your stream or community, even a small amount of support makes a direct impact. It helps close the sustainability gap and allows us to keep improving and investing more deeply into the platform.

To everyone already supporting Mix It Up, thank you for being on this journey with us and helping us build something that has gone far beyond what we originally set out to create.
