I keep adding little shapes and reflections on the floor on their own layers, and using Perspective Blur on some of them (under Adjustments in Procreate)

And done! This is a personal preference, but because I’m insane, I drew linework over the crystal in the end

Making sure we follow perspective, I draw some reflracted light coming from the crystal on a new layer. Making sure again I vary the shapes, sizes, and angles. Don’t overdo it!

For an added effect, I use chromatic aberration on Procreate. It’s under the adjustments manu. Once again I try not to overdo it.

Okay we’re gonna play with colors! I’m gonna pick a complementary color to this cyan/blue, which is this orange-ish hue, and pick similar values to add here and there.

Also added soft streaks with the default brush thylacine

New layer! I used Nikki Rull to add a glowing effect below the crystal. It also adds to the illuminating effect we added in the very beginning, making the light source much more believable.

Keep adding facets, with variations of sizes and angles. Using the same type of triangle over and over can get repetitive!

I’m also coaxing in a couple bright bright highlights on the edges/corners, but not too manny.

Because crystals come naturally cloudy and imperfect, I’ll add some texture on some facets with some splatter ink brushes. This one is Kyle’s Inkbox - Old Brush Ink 5. I’ll also throw in a few sparkles/dots here and there with Stars from the CK Star brush pack.

Step 3: Following where the light source is coming from (the bottom, in this case) start adding facets with different brightnesses, Because the light source is coming from below, the shadows will be on the top sides of each shape. Follow the perspective. It also helps to color pick from your gradient and apply facets with those!

Step 4: Make sure your facets are varied in shapes too. Maybe some are triangular and are sitting at weird angles. Don’t forget that nature can be quite random.

Step 4.5: Don’t forget that your crystal is kind of transparent. Colorpick the background and add hints of it around the shape. Because this background is dark, I’ll apply it towards the top so it follows the light source. Likewise, I’m adding a bright highlight to show a glossy surface.

Step 1, First, lasso a lil crystalline shape. Don’t make it too perfect, vary the sizes shapes and angles too. Nature doesn’t follow many rules haha

Step 2, Alpha lock or clipping mask the layer, pick a lighter color, and paint a gradient from the bottom-up
