Sometimes, when I replace the toilet paper roll and unstick the glue from the first sheet, I pause for a moment to think about what a kind, thoughtful, and caring person I am for my family, and how lucky they are to have me.

Cover letters have gone from the sorta-useful, necessary default to an edge case in like five years. If there’s a recruiter in the pipeline, they’re a waste of everyone’s time and effort. But if I’m hiring for super small team or a nascent company, I’m reading every last word.
