✨ Murphy's Joon ☘️ #minjoonkook JM & JK work in Claims. Joon happens to have a penchant for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. But lo, he finds the right people. Written for @mjkzine.bsky.social With art by @tinyartperson.bsky.social (squeeeee) archiveofourown.org/works/62102569

Art depicting a living room with indoor plants, creepers, faery dust in the air. Jimin and Namjoon sit on the couch with Jungkook hugging Namjoon's middle, resting his legs on Jimin. Foreground with a chonky tv set, coffee table with a walkman, flying papers with gold chocolate coins, a bag of gummy bears and TV Remote. There is also Jimin's moss pet bowl with a calico Yoongi on the rim.

gorgeous illustration created by @lhazee.bsky.social in collaboration with seidrem for whispers dissolved in a haloed tide. Story written and art illustrated for @mjkzine.bsky.social.

Illustration depicts:
1) mer Jimin with short, white and amber highlighted hair, amber tipped ears, amber accented emerald eyes, and amber and seafoam markings on seafom green skin. Jimin on the left, is looking off in the distance with longing.
2) mer Jeongguk in the bottom center of the illustration with midnight blue and turquoise highlighted hair, amber tipped ears, and midnight blue markings on blue skin. His eyes are closed.
3) dragon Namjoon with longer gray/purple hair, a smattering of scale on the edge of his face and arms, with darker markings and silver horns. He is looking up to the right.

The silhouette of a dragon made of blue and seagreen waves/seafoam rises behind them, with a golden tear falling from its eye. The dragon's body comes up around minjoonkook and decorates the bottom corners of the illustration.

The illustration is accented by an elegant golden border, the two corners holding the same golden tears as the dragon.

LHAZ lovely watermark in the top left corner.

Summary:
"Where will you go? Do you have... anywhere else to go?" Jungkook blushes at the question, shifting uncomfortably in his spot.
"Well...no," Jungkook mumbles under his breath, his nerves prickling his neck, "But I'll figure it out. I don't want to impose on you two any more than I already am."
"You don't have to be alone if you don't want to, Jungkook-ah," Jimin says softly, squeezing his shoulder.
When Jungkook has no choice but to run from his home after presenting as an omega, he finds himself exactly where he's always meant to be.

whispers dissolved in a haloed tide
---
Jimin will never know what Jeongguk was trying to say. He’d barely been able to shoot forward to catch Jeongguk when his eyes rolled shut and his body went limp.

Carrying Jeongguk back to their borders had been the longest swim of his entire life and he’s sure that he left a trail of heliodors in his wake, which he’s never done. Every mer’s crystal is precious to them, and Jimin is especially careful about where he cries.

Still, he hasn’t gone out to check or recover his crystals because he’s been here, at Jeongguk’s side, every day since then.

It has been eight long months. The healers, both his and Jeongguk’s parents, even the pod leader, have given up on trying to get him to leave. They know he’ll never move from Jeongguk’s side, not until he’s woken up again.
Jeongguk lies deathly still in the sand, the midnight blue, turquoise, and teal of his hair, scales, and markings all faded into ashy hues.

Jimin misses their vibrancy.

“Come back to me, my anchor,” Jimin whispers frequently while he holds Jeongguk’s hand, brushes out his rotting scales, and runs his fingers through his lover’s hair.
