We have the means; we’ve always had the means. What we lack is the courage. Why courage? Because courage requires empathy. The nation’s rulers couldn’t give a flying fuck about people on hard times. There’s no profit in empathy; plenty in pain.

This was interesting as I watched a clear, open aired “stuff” transaction in broad daylight with the pickup being some seriously late gen boomers in a shitbox and another seriously late boomer gen conducting the handoff and collection. So messed up.

Libre Office is the way Microsoft Word was 20 years ago, with icons on the tool bar and more. Also, Word kept resetting my keyboard to UK settings when all I wanted was UK grammar/spell check. Libre doesn't lose the plot and keeps them separate. So far, I am really happy having dumped Micro Office.

I love working on vintage technology because debugging hardware ends up being quite simple to actually understand vs a lot of modern devices that are essentially black boxes. Seems i have a bad DRAM chip, lol at it being the only one from this batch in the matrix.
