Saying ideology and policy are not important to Eisenkot's appeal reads as a coy attempt to cut off critique of the piece, wherein Remnick repeatedly obfuscates the candidate's stance on the occupation by highlighting the anti-occupation efforts of others like Breaking the Silence. Another example:
As David Remnick followed the candidate for Israeli Prime Minister Gadi Eisenkot’s campaign, it became clear that his appeal had little to do with ideology or policy. If Eisenkot wins, Remnick writes, it will be because he is the anti-Bibi. newyorkermag.visitlink.me/A0fQ4x
Climate change coming out as virulently antisemitic is a bummer but at least now we can put the whole "controlling the weather" conspiracy to bed.
Swagged out Edgar from Men In Black.
OOTD do you guys like my new suit
The toxic, racialized election discourse that pitted DC “transplants” against longtime residents was, in fact, driven almost entirely by wealthy white people. These commentators need to rethink the nasty racist stereotypes that lay behind their false and insulting conception of the DC electorate.
I've been there for Calbert Cheaney, you da man, you da man, Jim McIlvaine, I remember Tyrone Nesby, Agent Zero with the bouree, and your captain speaking Mr. Baltche. With all of that said...sorry Wemby, it's Wizards in 6!
In a historic D.C. election, it's looking like Janeese Lewis George is going to be our next mayor.
She finished behind "Bart Simpson" and "school sucks."
Nancy Mace just lost her GOP primary for South Carolina governor.
Andy Cohen's soft launch for The Unemployable Dipshits of Carpinteria is going great.
LOS ANGELES: Karen Bass and Nithya Raman are now in first & second position in the mayoral race in Los Angeles, with 34.7% and 27.1%. Spencer Pratt is now in third position, with 26.7%. That's based on roughly 50K ballots being counted today in the city of LA. There are about 130K left.
Creating a toxic environment at Bari's CBS: a long-tenured and highly respected employee telling his new boss that the staff has concerns. Not creating a toxic environment at Bari's CBS: firing that long-tenured and highly respected employee for bringing up the staff's concerns.
Scott Pelley has been fired by new 60 Minutes executive producer Nick Bilton.
As a lifetime Washington Football Team fan I am really the last person to want to make this correction but the Cowboys won 3 Superbowls under Jerry's ownership, two more than they had won under previous ownership, you ill-informed dorks.
Jesus tap dancing Christ
He had a big temper and they used it against him. In many ways they tricked him. Sonny Corleone! People say he was the first born but they got him on the causeway, and believe me, it was not good.
Trump: The Presidential Medal of Freedom is BETTER than a Congressional Medal of Honor because the first is for “healthy, beautiful” people & the second is for people who are “in very bad shape because they've been hit so many times by bullets or they're dead."
Doing conservative Nardwuar is a great bit. Just going up to people at the coffee shop, "ah, I see you downloaded 'Gin & Juice' by Blues Traveler off KaZaa in 2002, can you tell me how illegally stealing a song and putting it on 'Har Homa Land Sale Protest Annoying Music Mix' is in any way okay?"
Olivia Reingold posting a montage of her month of hard at work looking at Rama Duwaji's social media accounts is the funniest thing I've seen in a while. Especially when she unironically asks: "Who answers for the First Lady's Spotify playlist?" x.com/i/status/205...

This would be a great way to alienate at least half the membership of most synagogues in DC proper plus clergy, which is to ask whether Third Way is aware that people in Potomac, Maryland don't get to cast a vote for Kenyan McDuffie.
I get not wanting far left candidates to win but if the big “stab in the back” narrative for 2016/2024 is that third party voters/couch voters helped Trump win, this would only make the situation worse and with down-ballot repercussions.

As the website of 35-45 year olds, a lot of us are just at the park with young, energetic kids on weekend mornings and do "the work" at odd hours/through other less overtly visible avenues. Anecdotally, I think this cohort is also pretty pissed off.
As this site's unofficial eeyore, I can tell you: Rs see the grey hair at No Kings rallies, and the collapse of BLM, and are confident that any liberal protests will be ineffective (waving signs around) or will backfire (violence against Rs)

Faced with declining market share and poptimist contempt, rock music once seemed bound for the dustbin of history. But an industry crisis and a moribund liberal political establishment are driving a rediscovery of rock’s potential.
In this article, I take the long established notion that "rap is crap" and instead posit, "pop is poop."

To be fair, who could have foreseen that giving the President of the United States de facto King George III powers would be viewed as "unpopular" by most Americans?
NEW: Chief Justice John Roberts bemoans that Americans don't understand how the Supreme Court operates and see justices as "political actors". The court at times simply has to make "unpopular" decisions, he adds: www.nbcnews.com/politics/sup...
