Game fan, and game designer! FIVE great games for ColecoVision and other retro game consoles, now available on arugulaz.itch.io!

People don't think it's a big deal, but it kind of is. It adds obfuscation to the process and won't necessarily work if you've got similar programs on your computer already. I had to move into my computer room to give the Atari GameStation Go an update... :P

"Trump dropped a nuclear bomb on his own country and there's radiation everywhere! But that's okay, with the Nuclear Annihilation Bundle by @necrosoftgames.com and these three arms that just grew out of my back, I'll have plenty to do through the apocalypse!"

Every time some terrible disaster happens, Necrosoft releases a cheap bundle of games on itch.io. And this of course is good for the cause and good for players, but I'm starting to find myself getting a strange Pavlovian response to it. "The country was ripped in half by an earthquake! Oh, goodie!"

Byron's Game Boy Color demo works on real hardware! Sorta. The Game Boy Advance DOES play GBC games, but not with flash carts. Luckily, the GBA is powerful enough to emulate the GBC hardware. When you can't open a door...

I'm sorry, the name just sounds like a handjob. "So we got into the backseat, and I wanted to go all the way, but she'd only give me a Palmer Lucky."

Oh well. The way new CEO Toni Schneider is talking, BlueSky's going to become another fash microblog just like all the others. Then you'll have a whole LOT more people to block, and for more valid reasons!

I'm probably on several BlueSky block lists. Do I take it personally? Yeah, but the lists are still there, and there's nothing I can do to change them. Have it your way, I guess.

Why the hell does KC Green have me blocked? I can kind of understand some of the other ones, but the artist that gave us the dog happily dying in his own burning home? You don't even know me, or have any reason to be upset with me, but okay?

And here's Byron as he appears on the Game Boy Color. There's barely any color clash (check the nose, you'll see just a little). That's in contrast to Croc's title screen, where it's ALL OVER THE PLACE.

So it's working right... I had an event where an event shouldn't be, which is why it refused to boot into the second screen when a DMG was detected.

Apparently, when you select game override with mGBA, it STAYS overridden, and no force on heaven or earth will allow you to change it. Annoying. Stupid. Oh well, bye mGBA! Guess your stubbornness just doomed you to deletion.

The image is color, but the software decides, against my urging, to make everything monochrome anyway. No! Make the Game Boy error message monochrome and the Game Boy Color error message color!

I can get it to boot into the monochrome screen just fine. I CAN'T get the color image to come up... it converts THAT into monochrome, too. Good grief. What part of "color only" did you not understand?

Struggling with GB Studio. Look, it's real simple, man. Boot to the monochrome error screen if it's a GameBoy, boot to the color error screen if it's a GameBoy Color. How easy is that? (Not at all with GB Studio.)

1990s music in CD-based game systems is just the best, man. They struck a vein of brilliance with stuff like Gate of Thunder, Virtua Fighter 2, even Toshinden which was a buttnutter of a game in every OTHER respect. Very synth-y, very ethereal, and a perfect fit for the multimedia era.

The arranged soundtrack for Fighter's History Dynamite is so damn good, y'all. Punchy, powerful compositions that carry five times the weight of the original chiptune soundtrack. They're loud and bombastic in a way that fits the game's blustery atmosphere.

A(ss) Hat In Time is not winning me over. How was this an indie darling again? Why won't the game progress even after finding the mustache girl? Why are so few things interactive? Gex sucked like nobody's business, but at least progress was POSSIBLE. Not even fit to squeeze Lucky's anal glands.

Console games that are superior to their arcade counterparts? Ooh, that's an interesting topic. And you can take it pretty far back through video game history if you know where to look. Solar Fox and Tac-Scan are two games that are better on Atari 2600 than they were in arcades.
