Last-minute grocery shopper 🚲 Bicycle makes car noises, I make bad puns. Was @omnay on the old site. Kansas City, MO

Car-blindness is real! Psychologists or sociologists should study this. Giant two-ton boxes flying all around us, piloted by people who have been rendered psychopaths, regularly injuring & killing our neighbors, and many/most people just ... don't register it. It's just background noise.

I was talking to my neighbor when a group of cyclists came by at maybe 25 mph. “That’s so dangerous,” she exclaimed. In the meantime, quite a few drivers came by at 40 mph, and she’s completely unfazed. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Douchebag phone driver with shitty tattoos decides against repeating his death threat on camera, waits for the green light to try and share his water with me (fails)

Seven years ago today I tried an ebike on a lunch hour. Yesterday I "raced" 128 miles on dirt. What's next?

A white electric share bike with an orange saddle parked in front of a soon-to-be discarded car. This is the day I was bike-pilled.An exhausted man in an orange shirt and white bicycle helmet has just finished a challenging section of rutted prairieland. He's not yet halfway done. He has no idea how sore he'll be the next day.

I wanted to call out from my porch to a friend pedalling by, but the oncoming driver meant distraction could be deadly. I let him go in silence. Cars really do ruin everything.

Good chance the muscle car parked outside my house was stolen and dumped. I could report it, but since it's not the kind of vehicle that should be driven within earshot of society, I'ma let this fucker sit in timeout.

I will never ever understand the people who race-walk through the terminal only to freeze like a statue when they touch an escalator. Where did your hustle go, friend? They're speedy stairs, not a teleporter

Starting the new Star Trek game with my Voyager super-fan kids: "haha fuck yeah! yes!!" Me not getting to play today because they have homework and piano lessons: "well this fucking sucks. what the fuck."

Yesterday, I drove refugees that had been shipped off to Texas all the way back home to St. Paul Seeing them reunite with their families reminded me this is their home. So keep sending them to Texas. I’ll keep driving ‘em back and introducing them to Bucc-ee’s and KC barbecue along the way.

Tired: flat streets Wired: Speed humps, tables, etc Inspired: Speed *dips*, because modern clearance and suspension makes taking speed bumps at speed no big deal, but dips still make drivers worry they'll damage their car, and that has the highest level of encouraging compliance
