Oh yes, we Democrats hate the popular vote. We want all elections to be decided by the electoral college. It’d be a shame if Trump encouraged Republicans to enact the NPVIC. We’d hate it if all elections were decided by the popular vote instead.

The five states in yellow have legislation introduced to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. If they join, the compact will be enforced and the electoral college will be a thing of the past. We need people in the yellow states to call their state representatives.

Ooh, I hadn't heard about the case mentioned here at all! Shell is being sued, in the UK, by Filipino typhoon victims, on the basis that Shell's climate denial and continued emissions worsened typhoon severity. Lovelock's memo telling them about global warming - from 1966 - is part of that.

In 1966, a British scientist warned Shell that burning fossil fuels was likely causing climate change. Shell's response? Keep it secret—then fund climate denial instead. Read DeSmog's new investigation here: buff.ly/WoS1Cav

A Yale survey found that roughly 66% of Americans are worried about global warming. Climate-hushing is “the climate denial of 2026”. Ignoring the climate crisis is not smart politics, it is dropping the ball on the biggest threat the US and the world faces.” www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Nationwide actions seek to counter view that talking about climate crisis distracts from affordability messaging

UK is getting record energy from solar. That's where government money needs to go. Add battery storage & we get a solution to emissions and energy costs. Forget nuclear and no more drilling. Legislate all buildings & carparks to be covered in panels. We can do it. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

And the trump regime got rid of many safety regulations so they could build (unsafe) nuclear power plants to power the data centers. Nuclear power plants also need cooling, usually being built near water resources. So not only data centers but also power plants will need cooling.

The President’s job is to help Americans in need, not punish them for voting against him.  Trump has approved nearly 90% of disaster-aid requests from Republican-led states. But not one, not two, not three—FOUR Democratic-led states were denied assistance they needed and qualified for.

Trump overrode his own agencies to deny 4 Democratic disaster requests

President Donald Trump cast aside bipartisan precedent when he rejected eligible disaster requests from four blue states.

#WA #WashingtonState #WAwildfires #WAfires #FederalSupport #FEMA I'm pretty sure if trump stiffs us on wildfire relief funding, just because we are "blue", that there will be a helluva uprising against trump, from WA red voters. They are the majority of people who were impacted by our fires.

Last night, @governorferguson.bsky.social made a formal request for an expedited emergency declaration for the Spokane fires. Our ENTIRE delegation is urging the President to approve that request immediately. All of us are working together to make sure Eastern & Central WA get more help ASAP.

More "post-reality era" lunacy. They'd prefer to illegally spend money on something that doesn't exist than to dare fund a single EV charger, and their justification (that there's plenty of privately funded chargers already) ignores the whole point of the program. insideevs.com/news/803441/...?
