La semana pasada, nuestras doctorandas Sara y Alegría participaron en las JIFFI (UGR), con una charla y un póster sobre sus tesis. Un encuentro interdisciplinar organizado por y para doctorandos, donde compartieron su investigación en interacciones planta–microorganismo–insecto.

How do beneficial microbes help plants defend against herbivores? Our new study in New Phytologist shows that MIR (microbe-induced resistance) coordinates direct and indirect plant defenses over time—killing herbivores early and attracting their parasitoids later.

La semana pasada nuestro postdoc Fran Colina participó en el Congreso Microbioma 2025, presentando el trabajo de nuestro grupo sobre las complejas interacciones entre plantas, microbios y herbívoros. Una gran oportunidad para compartir ciencia y conectar con la comunidad del microbioma 🤝

🪲 En octubre recibimos la visita de Javier Manzanares (ICVV-CSIC), que pasó una semana con nosotros aprendiendo sobre el mantenimiento de colonias de insectos y técnicas de disección de larvas. ¡Gran intercambio de experiencias y una despedida con plato alpujarreño!
