Happy #kidlitartpostcard day! Here's me as a kid! My mom talks about when I brought her what looked like a ball of lint and was mildly grossed out to discover there were indeed bones inside like I said there would be. I'm a Canadian illustrator seeking representation artbymeagan.com #nature #summer

A gouache illustration of me as a kid in a yellow ahirt, showing my mom who's wearing a striped shirt, something I found. In the bottom right hand corner are painted hands opening up an owl pellet. The words above the kid say " Look! An owl pellet!" And the words above the hands say "if you pen it up there's bones inside!"

I've gotten back into buying dvds and Blu-rays of movies I like. I get tired of bouncing around with streaming services, and also enjoy being able to lend things to friends. I also really prefer physical copies of video games over digital. This seems so slimy that they can revoke access to purchases

What makes you think your digital games are safe? Once again, Studio Canal is pulling movie licenses. Purchases to be outright erased from libraries. It's the same that happened in 2022 and during the Funimation-Crunchyroll merger. Digital is rental! (via Twitter user somatyk)

Artists, it looks like Adobe might be doing very questionable things at the moment by auto-enrolling you into a more expensive AI-heavy "pro" plan (potentially even charging you for opting out after the fact, which I should hope is illegal). Be vigilant 🧵 see further posts below

I read this book a couple of months ago and it really was incredible. It dives into the history of the ocean starting with the creation of the universe itself, and had beautiful, engaging prose despite being a very informationally dense book. A sometimes emotionally heavy read, but very good. 📚💙

A book titled Deep Water by James Bradley, with a picture of a collection of coral over a black background.

I almost forgot today was #kidlitartpostcard day! I'm resharing this previous one, I like it and have been busy with other things so haven't had a chance to make something new that fits. I'm seeking representation, and open to MG and PB projects! See more at artbymeagan.com

An illustration of a kid swinging over a pirate ship on a rope. A green parrot is flying to his left, and two pirates are below on either side. A girl is cheering him on in the background, and further back seagulls are flying. Illustrator's name and contact info in bottom left right reads Meagan Jackson, www.artbymeagan.com, meaganguttormson@gmail.com

The one good thing about snow suddenly showing back up is I've had a ton of bird activity today from birds I don't typically see. I think this is a savannah sparrow, and he looks incredibly round from puffing up to stay warm ❤️ #birds

A very round savannah sparrow sitting in a bush with snow on the branches

If you're an artist you've likely encountered art scam emails where they offer a fake project. They're given away by the canned message with 0 specifics about your work. I haven't had one in a while but I got one today from someone calling themselves Aretha Franklin, which was honestly pretty funny
