In Paper Mario, Parakarry is a clumsy postman who joins Mario to find letters he lost. However, at the end of the game, Parakarry leaves, while the letters never actually get removed from Mario's inventory. This creates the humorous effect of Parakarry forgetting them once again.

It is recommended to start a playthrough of Paper Mario: The Origami King by dying 17 times in a row. The game has a hidden pity system that applies discounts to accessories. Dying 17 times allows Mario to reach Maximum Pity for a 90% discount, saving a lot of money over the course of the game.

Paper Mario: The Origami King contains a hidden internal pity system. Every time Mario suffers a failure or does something suboptimally in a battle, he receives "miss points" that unlock discounts on accessories at 15000, 30000, and 50000 points. While most actions accrue very few miss points compared to the amounts needed, dying in battle gains 3000 miss points. As such, all Mario has to do is die in battle 17 times in a row at the beginning of a playthrough to quickly reach 50000 miss points and unlock the maximum discount, saving a lot of money. In Super Mario Galaxy, Luigi can perform a "Silly Chair Dance" by being fired out of a cannon in a specific way. Unfortunately, the functionality allowing this was removed from the Nintendo Switch versions, so that the dance can only be enjoyed on the Wii.

Previously, I posted about how Yoshi's Island bosses are shaped dynamically from cones. It turns out there is a way to see this in-game. If the cartridge is pulled out during a boss battle (PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS), the boss will revert back into its true cone form.

The debug menu for Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour lists assets by contributor. It reveals that for this game, the team employed a "dedicated Luigi expert:" a person whose job was seemingly only to model Luigi, and nothing else.

The credits for Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour list 10 people in the "3-D Character Animation" section. The game's debug mode gives reason to believe that one of them, Masayuki Hashimoto, was specifically tasked with animating Luigi as opposed to the other animators, who did various characters or objects. The debug mode lists animations in groups named after the staff member who made them. While other groups that have character animations are not dedicated to a specific character or object, the "Hashimoto" folder consists solely of 27 Luigi animations, suggesting this was his main job. Note that Natsuko Takeuchi is another animator that only animated one character (DK), but she also made map objects. Oddly, while Masayuki Hashimoto is also listed under "3-D Map Graphics", no such graphics appear in his menu; it is unclear what he did. The only evidence is of his work on Luigi.
