i've always thought shonen anime's great strength was being extremely easy to understand and extremely addictive. i guess now that it's normal we're hitting the guy who is too dumb for shonen anime, which is kinda impressive
Daryl Surat@darylsurat.bsky.social · 22h agoBecause I am so old and decayed, I often look at the decisions Crunchyroll makes with regards to the site layout, player, ad placement, store changes and wonder "who is this for?" But now I understand, for I have seen the target Crunchyroll demographic userbase. This is who the site is designed for.
Watched "The Red Spectacles" this morning. I want more people to see this. Mamoru Oshii directed, cast of actors most known for anime voices (Shigeru Chiba acts his ass off in this), Kenji Kawai soundtrack, bizarre comedic moments punctuating a psychological experience. It's awesome.
7 out of 8 worlds into Return to Dream Land Deluxe and having a blast! It's easy like every Kirby game, but it's the right amount of challenge for someone like me who tends to not have a lot of time or focus anymore
This is surreal to have in my hands. It is very much proof of concept, but the artistry here is so stellar! If this had been fleshed out into something full I know it would have been a gem.

This surprisingly did not show up. It was an achievement list for Metal Max 2 Reloaded, presumably a new port of the DS remake of Metal Max 2! I hope this pops up eventually with a localization in tow!

So far, The Withered World is exactly what I want from a new DQM game! Cute and charming as ever, battles are snappy and everything feels quite a bit more polished than 3. As always with DQ, the localization is simultaneously amazing and puzzling, but I'm happy and can't wait for the full game!
