Woodside renews pursuit of activists whose hoax gas stunt evacuated Perth headquarters

ICYMI: Woodside has sensationally reignited litigation against peaceful campaigners in the WA Supreme Court for asserted lost earnings and brand damage following a 2023 protest that evacuated its corporate headquarters in Boorloo/Perth. The protest was to bring attention to the harmful effects of Woodside’s gas expansion on climate and cultural heritage. Woodside, the largest oil and gas company in Australia, says that other people were involved in the peaceful protest three years ago and is asking the WA Supreme Court to order Emil Davey, Joana Partyka and Kristen Morrissey to reveal the identities of any other such people.

RECLAIM SUBIACO: STICKERING SPREE

Since last year, media reports have emerged of transphobic stickers showing up repeatedly across Subiaco, including on playgrounds. Just this month, police decided that "the content of these stickers does not meet the criteria for a criminal offence", and so we're taking the issue into our own glue-stained hands, countering with pro-trans stickers. On the 9th May, we'll meet at Louis Baxters Cafe (2/50 Subiaco Square Road) at 10am, near the train station, then head out in groups to spread trans liberation across the signs and posts of Subiaco, before finally returning to Baxters to share a coffee. END FOREST MINING RALLY PHOTOS

On March 22nd, rallies were held all across the country, particularly in WA, in protest for the deforestation caused by mining companies. The protests were sparked by outrage after Alcoa was fined for clearing Jarrah forests that were home to critically endangered wildlife, but we're allowed to continue mining operations until 2045. With concerns of the extinction of the Black Cockatoo, as well as polluted drinking water, the protesters demanded that mining corporations be held accountable, and to immediately cease the destruction of forests, with chants to "end forest mining".
