A four-ton, building-sized piece of a discarded SpaceX rocket is believed to have crashed into the Moon earlier today at 5,400mph. The uncontrolled fragment had been drifting through space since January 2025. NASA predicted that its impact would create a crater around 18 m wide and 4m deep.
