Writing love-related post-apocalyptic short stories with gritty realism. debut anthology is “War Boy Bundle”, coming sometime next year. Current WIP: “Castle Doctrine”

I have genuinely read like, probably a quarter million words of independent research that I did solely to understand Horse. I ramped it up *hard* these last few months. One day I’ll share my reading list and a character analysis but for now Horse needs more care than short form can give him.

I’ve written lots about an installation piece Alana (my fmc) built. I made sure it was buildable in real life. It’s called the “Holosweet” as a stark trek nod but also “keep sweet” node to still-chained culty girls. It’s four panels on rails such that the “room” they form can expand or contract

Bluesky is down for a lot of accounts; my guess is that it’s a disk issue. This account works when none of my others do today — they must have split this into a different region. So tempted to just hit them up and be like “do y’all need help with this like, I promise you, I can help fix it

Cover and concept art. In the first image, the fabric draping is a nod to both old world art history and new world art history. She is reaching with two hands despite the fact that her weapon is unsecured and is not safe like that. In the second image, composition was really important to me. I

Boy I am getting so much art and deep project work done bc of these adventures, my goodness. Thanks for making heads down work fun again.

This one might be an anthology cover at some point. This has the best overall composition. Tomorrow I'll test it out with book cover designs.

Alana things: (from my wip) - she only calls him some specific, bedroom related titles when they are in the privacy of the bedroom or discussing fun stuff. - Alana is a die hard brat, and Colt’s brat taming abilities will be about him giving her structure and support in *very specific contexts*.

Opening scene in “Don Jon”. Yes, this is pretty much the vibe I’m trying explore through Horse. I want to understand this type of person’s lived experience. The conversations he has with his peers. The things he cares about. His activities. I am watching to understand, and I’ll probably post

I think I have to literally re-watch Don Jon from start to finish today because I can tell that the mechanism for the Horse => Malaki Noah might be hidden somewhere in that narrative. The allegory. We write fiction, and fictional composite characters because we cannot be makin’ assumptions about

This is a self-inside joke and then I am forcing myself off ba big screen for the night (my monitor), and this requires a lot of context that will prolly never be uttered aloud, but this just made me laugh "how would you describe your wife, sir?" "dickless and not tall enough"

Okay, this is an insane thing to say about a fictional character and I’m not trying to come across as some form of waifu degenerate, but I *have* to find a way to include the state of Dark Romance and how goody two-shoes proper ahh girls go feral for masked warboy ninjas

Just re-watched the movie “Don Job”. So many good discussion questions came up as I watched it for this first time through adult, single, coherent and independent Rebeca eyes that I may need to list like, a full worksheet later. I think people from high control religions should watch this movie

Castle Doctrine: (FINISH THISSSS WRAP IT 😂) - Horse has a hard time letting go or being vulnerable in any meaningful way, because Horse himself is a performance. It’s his best impression of the perfect boyfriend or the perfect one night. Part of the transition for Horse => Ki Colt involves him

So, I’m looking for romance recommendations that - true slow burn (like, the whole book is a slow burn) - nail the dark romance tropes while still making it clear that abuse is unacceptable. - have genuine, nuanced literary merit. Prestige Horror, but for romance. (prestige romance?)

This video had me wheezing 😂💀💀 this is what I mean why I say Dark Romance readers/writers are actually deeply unserious people, we just…have a wide variety of life experiences 💀 Organized Crime as a theme is tough for me, but I fully get the overall vibe they’re going for. I think if we can nail

“the acquisition” <—- gonna have to workshop that title💀 Feeling very connected to this WIP, but I’m definitely going to need to fact check all the business aspects of it 😂 I am not as finance/mega-firm saavy as some of my loved ones are. Call it a two for one: maybe I’ll learn a thing or two 💀

There is a lot of content out there aimed for people with an anxious attachment style, particularly women, on navigating an avoidant attachment style to try to bind in their person and have a relationship that mostly runs on the anxious attracted person’s terms for proximity. What’s missing is the

Halsey nourishes and heals my inner teen. Did you know she’s Black? She’s just very white passing, but she talks about hair texture challenges, assumptions, erasure? Awkwardness—and other things I can relate to as a hidden person of color — and her album title “If I can’t have love, I want power”

"I noticed something" Colt brought up, reminded. "You...*really* don't like it when people make assumptions about you, do you? It's like your least favorite thing, isn't it?" Alana raised her eyebrows and snuffed dismissively, only to break into a smile as she began to paddle her feet in the water.

I have noticed that people with anxious attachment styles - people who need constant contact and reassurance (no disrespect intended) — villainize avoidants largely because they cannot relate to them. They cannot yet see the upsides (and trust me, there *are* upsides). The ability to reach flow

The strength of a relationship is actually in the capacity for repair, as well as pro-active perspective taking, *not* just avoiding conflict at all costs. My ex husband is the most patient and disciplined person I have ever met, and it made us hiding our issues—our loneliness—too comfortable.
