And to be clear, I obviously have absolutely nothing against that man or the trades, but I would love Doug to look me in the eye and explain how teaching music doesn't help your communities. Better yet, make use of my trumpet mute and shut the fuck up.

I am sorry this dog died. Six years old. I am also pissed that this dog was forced to spend it's short life terrorizing people as an agent in the War on Drugs.

A year-and-a-half old at the time, Gryphon was trained in human scent detection and location, suspect apprehension, article detection, handler protection, and narcotics detection.

We had an MP in the 80s and early 90s in Peterborough who's big issue was bringing back the death penalty. He came to OAC Politics class to talk to us in 93. We had just spent weeks learning about Marshall, Truscott, Morin, Milgaard. He wasn't prepared. Have never seen a man flail so gracelessly.

“...(Iran is) the biggest exporter of terror. It was hell-bent on getting a nuclear weapon, and the force multiplier on that was terrible. We all have to support (the deal). But moving to this position, where that’s been taken off the table. Yes, that’s worth it.” Mark Carney, June 2026

Note that elected officials have had decades to put this kind of dent in the War on Drugs. Instead, a couple people acted in the face government inaction to save lives and fight for a court to declare that the government is violating our Charter Rights with its classist, racist, deadly drug laws.

thetyee.ca/News/2026/09... “Murray agreed that a non-medicalized safer supply program is urgently needed to save lives and found that DULF had been reducing the harms associated with the toxic drug crisis while having no negative impact on the community or public safety.”

The TRC handed the government a roadmap that two successive governments have chosen to essentially discard. The failure to implement the Calls-to-Action - notably in areas of health and "justice", but literally every section of the report - is unjustifiable and sure appears to be intentional.

It has been over 11 years since the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada released its 93 calls to action. Since then, 14 of them have been completed. That is just 15%. In over a decade. www.indigenouswatchdog.org/2026/09/01/t...

These folks should have voted for Nader. He seemed to want to be president and cared about the harm that GWB caused millions of people while Al Gore was making himself very wealthy from 2001 to 2008.

A good case from @dickpolman.bsky.social that this man’s selfish short-sightedness set us on path to where we are today. Excruciating insights on the wreckage of a legacy. dickpolman.substack.com/p/ralph-nade...
