I'm a person who does art for fun and likes to comment and argues politics when I've had too much to drink

Overheard at the theater during the Amazing Digital Circus finale: "I thought this was a kids' movie." And they had indeed brought their young children with them. Who seemed to have a great time, regardless of the mature themes.

How did I never notice before that the "6-7" meme is my birthday? I am fueled by the power of youth culture. Whenever they speak of it, I gain another tiny bit of vitality

Ironically, it's been a net benefit to my own mental health that my country/the world is going the way it is. 'Cause whenever I get into a really low mood, I can look around and see that I'm not doing any worse than the rest of society right now

When people say "weegee board", or "orangatang", or "expresso", I dunno whether to go along with it for the sake of fitting in, or to say the words the right way and risk coming off as a snob.

Maybe the original House of Wax was better, and that's why the 2005 version got such mixed reviews, but I liked it! Kind of a slow burn, but it established the characters. The acting was better than your typical slasher film.

Louis Pasteur worked his ass off to make milk safer because people were dying, and now some very comfortable people have decided live dangerously because they don't trust the government. As if that's got anything to do with anything. Some mo-fo's always trying to ice-skate uphill

The most important skill I'm trying to learn right now is when to apologize when I'm in the wrong, and when to stay my ground because the other person is wrong, but full of bluster. Too many times I've shrinked away from conflict and then something totally preventable happened. People can be dumb.

At a certain point -- possibly after a fateful party where you had to mask as normal and were chatting it up with some real assholes -- you realize it might not be so bad to just be cringe, and find who else is cringe, too, at the expense of, well, being cringe

It's a bit juvenile, but when I was 19, I was really into Bleach, the manga. I kept trying to draw Ichimaru Gin, and he kept looking like shit. It's what inspired me to get into drawing, and it's why he's my profile pic

I like to let people know when they're doing a good job with their art. Don't mistake this behavior for "simping". I'm one of those autistic nerds that think status is trash, I just calls 'em like I see's 'em

I keep thinking back to that classic novel, The Grapes of Wrath, where Steinbeck was so sure that change was brewing. Centuries before that, people thought Jesus was going to show up any minute now. So much justified rage can be starved of the oxygen it needs to do anything about it.

Me in my 20's: If I should die suddenly, I want my family to burn all of my sketchbooks. The world must never know of my strangeness Me in my 30's: Y'all better plaster the walls with my weird porn at my funeral

I don't like how Pavlovian it's become to click on text on the internet when a colored circle is hovering over the top-right corner. An itch builds up when I try to ignore it. Gettin' trained in FOMO like a dog

This is probably not an issue that many people share, but I am so sick of dreaming about parking lots. I don't know what it *means*, but it's every other night. I'm always looking for my car. What *is* that?

always feel bad retracting a "follow" once I find out that an artist I liked made a good piece because they're essentially making the same piece again and again forever, but a breath of fresh air goes stale if it's the only one you ever take

My fatal character flaw is that I think I can do life completely on my own. I recognize this, but it has not reached true understanding. If my life were a movie, overcoming this would be my character arc. But since life isn't that simple, I'll probably be stubborn about it and then die

I want to dunk my head in a bucket of ice water. Just to do something for me, y'know? A little treat. A little "if you're gonna cancel my health insurance, I need to remind myself what real adrenaline feels like". I *will* go live in the woods. They'll never find me.

Gerrymandering was portrayed in my high school textbooks as a clearly unethical thing that people way-back-then did. We were supposed to be past this sort of thing. I guess there's a new "we" now, and "we" have been trying it again for a while.

I hope that drinking all the juice out of a giant jar of whole pickles doesn't come back to haunt me... seems like the sort of thing that could be fairly healthy or *really* unhealthy

Cooking is *hard*. You know when you try your little heart out, and it's just slop? And then you think maybe everything you do is slop? And then you remember that it felt like that for everything else, at first, so you just take the punch to the sternum and wheeze for the rest of the day

So we've abandoned the pretense of democracy, right? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're finally saying the quiet part out loud with this gerrymandering war. History repeats.

If the mid-terms don't put the brakes on whatever the hell is happening in this country, I think I have to leave. I like it here... but I might just have to go somewhere wildly else and try to get a gig teaching English

Why are American psychos so good at killing children and so bad at killing old men with a coterie of trained anti-assassination professionals loitering around them?

Pretty sure I'm going to have the Beach Dream tonight. The dream where I'm at the beach. Excited for it. I need that kind of mellow vacation right now.

People think I'm flirty just because I'm not afraid to make friends with women. I like talking to women; they tend to be more interesting conversational partners. Guys have some weird cultural barriers, and a vague sense of competition. We can try to form friendships but it's an uphill battle
