Not much solace for those frontline Garda members being hauled before the courts for simply carrying out their duty. Members are now apprehensive and second guessing their legitimate actions for fear of being prosecuted and losing their livelihoods.

Ten gardaí are currently before the courts for alleged dangerous driving or careless driving incidents which happened during the course of their duty. The Garda Commissioner said in some of these incidents, “nobody has been injured”, yet gardaí have been charged. jrnl.ie/7101857
