genderqueer disabled metalsmith, multidisciplinary artist, and writer. former mortician. hEhlers-danlos et al. living in florida. i post pics of spiders https://linktr.ee/mortuaryreport

a week late in having my copy arrive, which means an extra week of celebrating the gift of @sesmith.lol’s new book “all my dead cats.” i’m so very proud that this book exists & my friend wrote it—hfs, it was once just an idea?! celebrating are the skulls of my dead cats, moxie (L) & whimsy (R)

a propped up copy of a book called “all my dead cats and other losses” by s.e. smith. the cover is in shades of peach and blue, with an illustration of cat prints tiptoeing into a portal of stars. the book stands upright on a full bookshelf. beside it are two cat skulls. the left skull, moxie, is reddish and textured and smaller. the right skull, whimsy, is perfectly pale white. both cats would have loved the book and its author.

over the last few years, i’ve been trying to read some of “the classics” that i missed (for whatever reason)—books that defined a genre, are (in)famous & wildly referenced. many have been excellent! but y’all. idk if i can finish the big sleep or the three musketeers

i cannot recommend enough that @theflytrapmedia.com is worth spending your hard-earned $ on; i am so lucky to be among MANY incredible writers here!!

Our latest Bitch Media reprint at @theflytrapmedia.com is this fantastic piece by @mortuaryreport.bsky.social, writing about the need for disability in queer spaces and how disabled LGBTQIA+ people are often stuck on the margins due to lack of physical and attitudinal access.

can confirm having just had a convo with an ADA specialist: a sterile environment is a place where in order to enter hair, clothes, & shoes must be covered by gown & PPE, & no visitors are allowed—like an ICU, operating room, or burn unit. if you can bring someone w/you, your service dog can come

by ADA definitions, is the piercing room of a piercing studio a “sterile” environment in which a service dog is not permitted? my gut feeling is no; sterile means surgical while a piercing room is sanitary with sterilized implements, but i’m willing to be wrong

deep cut but give me all of your best long form videos about the history of france & the world during the setting of the three musketeers AND your videos about alexander dumas’ family history AND about dumas writing the book thank you

the nice thing about having floridian parents is there is a built in pool for me to dangle in when my spine has gone fucky and something is dislocated but also this does not actually seem like a decent or real excuse for jobs or anyone i owe things to
