hi everyone, I'm still here, with my little dinosaurs and anime people. Still on hiatus, but slowly working on animations and art despite everything :)

No Patreon dev blog this month, I'm delaying it til next month and working on the game slower because of life things (mostly, trying to find a job). Sorry y'all

Hey, I'm Sarah. I'm an artist, 3d animator, UI/UX designer, and developer located in the American Midwest. I'm the creator of Ars Meteorica, a fantasy strategy game (demo) set in a world with anime-inspired humans and sentient theropod dinosaurs. Tech art and programming languages are my jam 🌟

Dev blog #14 is up for Patreons! In this one, I chat about more behind the scenes things like Blueprint refactors, how some systems work, and some more enhancements. There's also a short video showing a quick full turn with the new UI.

AI has NEVER been used in the making of my game and will never be. If you see me mention "AI," it's the classic behavior trees and pathfinding kind... not the biggest art theft in the history of humanity kind

Dev blog #13 is up for Patreons! In this one, I show a little dialogue snippet for a map, and talk about creating the Action Prediction submenu UI/UX. Unfortunately, this is a short one, but I hope yall enjoy it nonetheless!

note for patreons, I'm currently doing my best to get Dev Blog #13 up today, but will likely be late, sorry! I'm wrapping up a UI/UX feature which will be the focus of the blog

To save time on animating for my game demo, I combined my human rig with my dinosaur rig. Obviously corrections still need to be made per animation (like this animation right here isn't corrected, this is just the human run cycle thrown right on) but it's incredibly effective

I thought I'd show how I did the wolf's eye. I wanted it to have similar depth like a real eye at all angles, but stick to my celshaded art style. It's a combination of simple textures and flipped normals + backface culling in the right places. #stylized3dtips

"One-Eyed Wolves are among many dangers that roam the wilds of the Houselands at night. Often found in packs, they possess a head almost the size of an entire human and an insatiable appetite for blood." #dinosaur-trpg
