Science teacher and data geek at an AP in the South West. Dad, runner, race timer and radio technician too! Generally over shooting deadlines after taking things on as "it looks interesting"

Took my boys for an open evening at the local boys grammar. Really impressed, and has boosted both boys’ aspirations. However… has also got me thinking about a return to mainstream science teaching…. Maybe. Do worry my subject knowledge has gone downhill with 15 years in AP though

It’s midnight. Sounds from the garden suggesting one of the #chickens is dying painfully. Even the neighbours are up and asking what’s going on. Hurry down the garden. No murder. A hedgehog has got into the chicken house and the chickens have panicked. Full on imminent death panic. 1/2

Panicking chickensA hedgehog after removal from the hen house

My nine year old when I was showing one of our chickens to a visiting 3 year old- “That chicken is so AI” I responded with a somewhat incredulous “the chicken is very much not A and is certainly not I”. This is the chicken that sits out in a hail storm. Where’s that phrase come from?

Four year old had a can of lemonade whilst I was working with a friend on their van. This was several hours ago. He’s been like the Duracell bunny… on speed. I’m assuming his battery will run out eventually….

As a former headteacher, I spent decades staying politically neutral. Not anymore. Nigel Farage has outlined Reform UK’s education agenda—from scrapping the Equality Act to mandating culture wars. It should deeply worry us all. My breakdown: open.substack.com/pub/exheadte... #EduSky #QuietLeadership

What Do Schools Look Like Under Reform? (And Why It Should Worry You)

A former headteacher dismantles Nigel Farage’s plan to scrap the Equality Act and bring culture wars into the classroom.

The good news - I have found the issue with my #powerautomate flow which was causing it to skip rows in a spreadsheet when transferring data to a share point list. The bad news - I created a bug in the duplicate detection/removal and ran flow a few too many times before realising 🤦
