Music about which one could justifiably say, "That's not music." Saxophone (tortured). Cornputer (despised). I read a lot and walk around cities. https://bhobrainey.com https://bhobrainey.bandcamp.com

In early 2007 Sedimental Records released my collaboration with Ralf Wehowsky, I don't think I can see you tonight. It was good! In early 2027 Sedimental Records will release Ralf's and my follow-up 2CD, Recollection of a Crime. It's great!

when the buddha left the palace and entered the wider world, he was confronted with the four signs: - plastic bags, cigarette butts &c - the existence of poop - poorly maintained road infrastructure - stupid statue of some abstract bullshit the buddha, stricken, resolved to find an answer to this

Early last year, a genius overhauled my saxophone, and suddenly I was able to do things that seemed impossible. A certain type of music started flowing as a result. Later, I was listening to one of Sarah's recordings and realized that we were on the same vector, so to speak. So I broached this idea.

Very pleased to have received support from the @newmusicusa.bsky.social Creator Fund to compose a new piece for solo saxophone with @mphonic.bsky.social aka Bhob Rainey. Thanks a lot New Music USA and to Bhob for initiating this all.

Give it a listen. Download it. Put some change in Safie's pockets. You get an hour of talk (that I don't remember, don't @ me if you're nasty) and a free 20 minute track, 1/3 of _From null lands led, starrily_, an album that slays.

Signifying Something podcast returns with a new episode featuring Bhob Rainey! I was fascinated to learn about Bhob's sonification and audification techniques using data from stock market predictions. Thank you @mphonic.bsky.social and @safieflato.bsky.social!

We’re live. Two years ago, we released a plan. Today, our collectively owned music platform is open. Explore. Support artists directly. Join the co-op. It’s only the beginning. Sincerely Ours, Subvert

I don't know that I have many Ithaca followers here but in the event that I do, a reminder that our garage art/performance space Neighbors Gallery is hosting Bhob Rainey and Lucky Crumbs this Sunday evening and I'm excited to hear the music and to give our new PA system a whirl!

I only discovered his music recently (guess I'm a dummy), but I sure listened to it a lot once I got smart. Particularly Dockings and Burundi. The latter in spite of a perhaps too generous helping of didgeridoo. RIP

I often think about the time that hitchBOT got destroyed in Philadelphia and everyone was like, Ha ha, of course! That's the only city in America with stupid and violent people! And then I wonder what people would do now if an obsequious robot showed up on their street.
