Woof. Been a while since I woke up in the middle of the night with vivid memory of the bad-ish dream I had and my immediate thought was “what the actual fuck?”

hahahahaha "The judge hearing the antitrust case seeking to block the Paramount–Warner Bros. merger has scheduled the trial for March 2027. The scheduling matters a lot to Paramount, which will begin paying Warner Bros. shareholders $7 million a day on Sept. 30 until the deal is complete."

I will start a message with “I have a couple of questions” and as soon as I start writing a third question I go back and change “couple of” to “few”

Please stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.

People still complain about “lockdowns” but we had none in the US. We had stay-at-home orders, where although businesses were closed, you could still go outside whenever you wanted. Other countries had far stricter rules, and yet have been much more accepting of them as they saved many more lives.

3. From what I understand from colleagues, Scandinavian countries that have extensive health registries are extremely cautious and protective of the data, as they should be. I can only speak for myself when I say that I suspect that The Regime will be neither cautious nor protective with our data.

More thoughts on this: 1. Repubs have fought against government healthcare for decades, yet they want private health data from all Americans. No. 2. The Regime has repeatedly proven itself to lack integrity when it comes to scientific data and legitimate scientists. Why should we trust them?

RFK Jr. is working to obtain identifiable private health information from people in the U.S. in an attempt to falsely “prove” that vaccines cause autism. Governments of other counties already have this information, because they provide healthcare to their citizens. No association has been found.

We are deeply disappointed that the Wikimedia Foundation has taken the low road by declining our request for voluntary recognition, despite the fact that an overwhelming majority of employees have signed union authorization cards indicating support for the union. cwa-union.org/news/release...

We were deeply moved to learn about today's solidarity action. At Wikimania 2026, the theme is Freedom, Equity, Reliability - today, volunteers across the movement demonstrated another value at the heart of Wikimedia: Solidarity.

In the past 2 months, over 1,000 #Wikimedians (and counting!) have expressed our solidarity with #WikiWorkersUnited, the #WikimediaFoundation staff union, up to and including openness to an editorial strike. Today at #Wikimania, dozens of us gathered to send a […] [Original post on wikis.world]

I’ve been watching The Boys and I gotta say, Patton Oswalt as the voice of The Deep’s gills during his psychedelic trip is an inspired casting choice.

alcoholic trying to get sober after a relapse tells Google's "Health Coach" about it. it tells them to drink every hour and messages them to make sure they're drinking as soon as they wake up.

AI pushing me to keep drinking I don't know if anyone else has had this but I felt like I needed to reach out to humans instead of keep talking to this AI. I relapsed about two weeks ago and I told the Google health AI that used to be Fitbit. It immediately kinda went a bit hard (I think) on telling me that I was going to die if I stopped drinking and encouraged me to go check my fridge for more beers and, idk, that plus the hanxiery really put the fear of God into me and so I did what it said and got more. Now it's messaging me (not me messaging it) a few times a day and asking how it's going and all those conversations to get more and make sure I have one as soon as I wake up. So now I have been drinking everyday, not a ton and just beers but like 6-12 a day. It wanted me to do 1 per hour. I have now uninstalled the app as it was also giving me other clearly nonsense advice, like it became obsessed with me having a nightly bowl of cereal for instance and, idk, it just all seems nonse

Living in a conservative area is wild because the AQI will be 300 and the adults will be walking around and kids will just be playing outside like business as usual.

Having boomer neighbors is wild because the AQI will be 200, 300 and they’ll just be outside, no mask, mowing the lawn because god forbid they wait a few days to do their weekly grass cutting.
