He/Him, 24, 3D artist that makes cool stuff! My views are my own. I don't use AI and don't use my stuff for training it, thanks. ...But what do I know? I never went to business school! Check out my models and other stuff: #wip

DID YOU KNOW⁉ The elementary school student that designed this scheme 50 years ago put more intention and effort into it than you typing prompts into an AI model to create severely misshapen modern versions of bicentennial locomotives of no discernible manufacturer.

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. My truck had some engine issues and I was without a vehicle for a while which was stressful, but now it’s getting fixed and things are looking up! Headed to my local hobby shop on the train to get some extra bits and pieces for my layout as celebration

Check out this slideshow about EMD designed paint jobs from the F/E unit era. It’s actually magical and you can spot SO many paint jobs here that were born from EMD’s design department. It’s a really cool read!

Preston Cook's Remake of a Jim Boyd Classic

This is a reconstruction of a long-lost Jim Boyd program - 168 images from a PowerPoint lecture. The author would encourage future historians to put their time and effort into books and magazine artic...

I had a whole bit lined up for April Fools where I was gonna rename Mr. I’s Magic Model Railroad to Mr. K’s Krazy Model Kars but honestly I ran out of time to make a silly render of Mr. K, oops

Kevin (Mr. K)

I’ve still been working on Mr. I’s Magic Model Railroad off and on in the background, but it’s been really boring and unphotogenic stuff like rigging and remaking models. Have some screenshots of the demo build I’ve been fiddling with of Vivian #wip #blender3d

Here’s some WIP shots of my “layout”, if you can even call it that at this stage. The big void in the loop is likely going to become the yard and the bridges are stand ins until I can kitbash some pretty truss bridges. (Plus a fluff picture of one of the new SD45’s) #hoscale

A bunch of EZ track lying around on the floor of my apartment, soon to become an actual layout. One of my HO scale SD45’s on some track on the “layout”.

Just showed up in the mail: two Athearn RTR SD45's! NP had 30 of these so they will be a welcome addition to the future layout. Next big purchase is probably gonna be a three pack of U25C's from Korea Brass to test against my Rivarossi model. #hoscale

Three HO scale models of Northern Pacific locomotives; one Rivarossi U25C numbered 2529, and two Athearn SD45's numbered 3619 and 3622.An array of Northern Pacific cars and locomotives; from left to right, two Walthers cabooses, a U25C, and three SD45's.

Fun fact: on their 100th anniversary in 1964, the Northern Pacific Railway celebrated by commissioning a 40 minute long opera about their many achievements, which they called "A Thousand Miles of Mountains". Here's a brief selection from it! It's a fun listen.

Getting to the end of the planning stage of my HO scale layout and getting dangerously close to the “making it” part, which is kind of scary. Hardest part right now is trying to finish a track plan that I like and will support the running I want to do
