With the news of the lettuce-poop viruses, I’ve been cooking our veg more often to stay safe. This recipe for blanched romaine from the Vegan Chinese Kitchen by Hannah Che is great! The lettuce is briefly boiled then chilled, so there’s still some crunch inside.

The wildfire smoke is hitting our area pretty hard now. So last night I put together this homemade air purifier. 💪 😷 I happened to have these extra filters cause I bought the wrong size for our furnace, but with a little cardboard and lots of tape they have found a purpose 🪚

I had a heat wave big brain moment today when I put my lunchbox’s freezer packs in a tote bag to hang on my car driver’s seat. Sharing for anybody else to use to embiggen their brains.

y'all, I got this Crimson Diamond game in the steam sale, and I only played a few minutes so far and it's like being wrapped up in a warm blanket and having your hair braided, I tell you what.

Made a nice homemade pop tart using frozen puff pastry and jar of pie filling. These are really great considering how relatively quick they are to make. I recommend everybody try it! These have a blueberry goat cheese filling! Notes about that and prep in the image alt texts

We can see a healthy lump of goat cheese and blueberry filling on the flat pastry rectangle. For this process, I cut into rectangles store bought frozen puff pastry, docked the whole surface (probably not necessary) and pre-crimped the edges of each. then spread egg wash on those edges for sealing after placing the filling as shown here. The filling is goat cheese creamed with sage, and blueberry pie filling from a jar that I juiced up by simmering warm and peppery spices in brandy.

I succamb to the temptation and got Ghosts of Yotei and stayed up late taking pretty photos in photo mode and dang it was so relaxing. I needed that so bad.

Dear chat, you are loved! I told work a little white lie that I couldn’t attend the lunch-provided meeting with the frowning man because I had a Dr appt today. Why? Cuz yapping with y’all and eating lunch in the safety of my car is a highlight of my workday that shan’t be bought with sandwiches.
