Top spenders on ActBlue linking Meta ads so far in 2026: James Talarico - $6.9M DNC/DCCC - $6.2M Jon Ossoff - $4.3M State + Local Election Alliance - $1.9M Pete Buttigieg - $1.7M Graham Platner - $1.2M Annie Andrews - $1.1M Alexander Vindman- $1.1M Mallory McMorrow - $1M Abdul El-Sayed - $1M

Everytime I run this analysis, I’m always blown away by how much Pete Buttigieg is spending on fundraising and list building right now. He’s the fifth largest spender on Facebook & Instagram ads linking to ActBlue right now and isn’t currently running for anything

Digital political advertisers have spent ~$57.2M on Facebook/Instagram ads linking out to ActBlue so far this year (~$9.3M spent in July). This is far more than the amount spent on Meta ads linking to WinRed (~$1.5M so far this year, ~$218K in July)

Digital political advertisers have spent ~$48.1M on Facebook/Instagram ads linking out to ActBlue so far this year (~$7.9M spent in June) While there was a surge around yesterday's Q2 fundraising deadline, the peak isn't as large as peak from end of Jan 🧵with other insights

While there's been a significant drop off in spending after the June 2 primaries, seems notable that spending this year on Google political ads is still pretty elevated We're only just seeing daily 2024 spending consistently surpass 2026 spending (increase in 2024 is pegged to Biden->Harris switch)

Fundraising ad running on Facebook + Instagram from Dr. Annie Andrews that was launched within the last hour She's 11th on my list of top spenders on Meta ads linking to ActBlue so far this year. Has spent ~$862K on these ads in the first half of 2026: bsky.app/profile/mrar...

Within the past few hours, the Maine Democratic Party started running this paid digital fundraising ad on Facebook + Instagram. It's only running in state. "Our principles do not bend based on party affiliation. We told our own nominee to withdraw. Now we have zero dollars and zero days to waste."

🚨 Graham Platner's campaign has paused all of their Facebook + Instagram digital ads. When I looked last night, they were running 10 fundraising ads. This morning, that number had dropped to 7. When I just looked, all of them have been paused

Bild

NEW: DNC has stopped running any digital fundraising ads featuring Graham Platner within the last few minutes Took a screenshot of fundraising ads they were running at 3:31 PM - there were 3 versions running at that moment in time About 5 minutes later, they had been removed

Digital political advertisers spent at least $40.8M on Facebook/Instagram ads linking out to ActBlue so far this year (~$8.2M spent just in May) Notable spike in spending as we toward the end of the month Amount spent on ActBlue ads is still far outpacing WinRed spending

Got this ad from NRCC on Twitter Went to go find it in the Twitter political ad data - but it’s not there Despite publishing 3 new datasets a week, if you look at the raw data, the Twitter political ad data hasn’t been updated since March Quite concerning going into the midterms

Bild

Jon Ossoff spent $161K on Facebook/Instagram ads on Wednesday, the day after Mike Collins won the GOP runoff for #GASen This is Ossoff's 4th highest day of spending on Meta ads It's outranked by 2 days in 2025 around Q1 fundraising deadline & Jan 25, 2026 which was around the ICE funding debate

Bild

This is partially a shifting consumer behavior story & partially a reflection of the money flowing thru the system, but spending on Google political ads (YouTube) is sharply higher than in previous years Digital advertisers have spent ~2.6x more in '26 than at this point in '22

Bild

Saw big uptick in spending on Facebook/Instagram digital political ads from Kalshi trying to get folks to bet on the LA Mayor race Spent $188K on Monday Wasn't as big as 2024 prez election nor Trump's SOTU speech, but was larger than what they spent last fall getting folks to bet on NYC mayor race

Finally had a chance to update the interactive dashboard tracking spending on digital political ads in specific CDs: aarenge.shinyapps.io/2026_meta_CD... Over $60M spent so far Big uptick in #MD06 (now in top 10) Ran into some issues with Meta data - still working on solving that

James Talarico spent $320K on Facebook + Instagram political ads on Wednesday, the day after Ken Paxton won the #TXSen GOP primary This is a lot of money to spend on fundraising ads - but it's actually less than Talarico spent on the day after his interview with Colbert got pulled off the air

Bild

Talarico started running a paid digital ad on Facebook + Instagram over the last few hours featuring the Talafreako merch. Spent ~$1K so far. 70% of the spending that's been reported so far has been in Texas.

Bild

The DCCC is running this 1 minute long paid digital ad on Facebook + Instagram (spending ~$1K so far) and a much shorter version (6 seconds) on Google (spending ~$4.5K so far). Ad is only running in specific zip codes. Map of the geographies being targeted in the next post.
