What if football and hockey had goal sizes based on the size of the goalies? That way you wouldn't have only gigantic goalies?

Physics enthusiast first, math amateur second. Squash fan and official third. Wait! I also have pugs and an amazing wife, too. Forget it...
If you bring me in to sub for your class, and don't give me anything to teach, I just end up creating silly tools like this - my first swing at the Desmos notebook. You've been warned... www.desmos.com/notebook/skr...
More Desmos tools. Sure, I don't see any reason to believe that anyone sees these posts, but I'm gonna keep posting... www.desmos.com/calculator/z... www.desmos.com/calculator/5... www.desmos.com/calculator/e...
The Ambiguous Case of the Sine Law

Does anyone else think that this would be a perfect time to reboot the Colbert Report? It would detail Stephen's conversion back to the living arms of the far right.
Just for fun, I created a model of the Ambiguous Case of the sine law in Desmos geometry. Take a look and feel free to use it if you like. www.desmos.com/geometry/6rl...
If you enjoy movies like Hot Rod, you owe it to yourself to watch Barb and Start Go to Vista Del Mar. Where else do you see two middle aged women as the protagonists, one who killed a woman in a hit and run, and one who trampled her husband to death at a black Friday sale?
Continuing my unseen series on controversial math facts... If you could select a real number completely randomly, there is a 100% chance that it would be transcendental. All the math we do is on a vanishing small portion of the real number domain.
This is the first, and possibly last post in the topic of provocative math thoughts. Hopefully they will be correct. The area of every circle is zero. Prove me wrong.
Trying to come up with a way to visualize the calculation of the shaded area outside a chord in a circle. This was the closest I could get. I strongly suspected that what I drew in the triangle was not a straight line. Now I get to parameterize a line!
Here is a surprisingly deep question. How many dimensions to a circle (Euclidean definition)?
An apple pie destroys the cube rule. When a pie comes from the oven, it is a calzone. When a piece is cut for you, it is a taco. When you take your first bite on your fork, it is a sandwich. If you unfold your Brooklyn style pizza, your taco becomes toast. Madness
So, I'm testing out a new technique to head off the awkward "any plans for the night" questions from servers. I ask them first. How do you deal with those questions?
I'm bored of the hotdog sandwich debate. Try this one. Is rice a dish or an ingredient? Is there a recipe for a banana? @carterorieux.bsky.social . Is there a minimum requirement for a recipe?
@arimelber.bsky.social With the funding to schools like Princeton being cut for questionable reasons, is there a reason than no one has looked into asking the schools to revoke law degrees to lawyers who have been involved in the process that has been hurting the profession?
