EverythingWeather is quite good and connected to NWS for a lot of weather data. You can even pull up NWS reports and forecast text. It’s free and has a sub option. Carrot as always is fun though Android isn’t as good as iOS. RadarScope is the best radar period.

I’ve spent almost two weeks reviewing the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL (one week each). The entire time I’ve had a Z Fold 8 sitting in my desk, just waiting for me. It’s been rough. After today, I’m diving in head first.

I built a second solar node, this time using the Harbor Breeze light, and flashed Meshtastic to it. Going to watch both networks for a bit. I think the future is MeshCore — I get it now — but Meshtastic has more coverage and nodes locally.

About to mount my first MeshCore repeater. Had it up and running for a few days now, but just swapped to a 1W board and going to get it up higher. Pic of wiring attached.

Moving my oldest to college in a week has me thinking a lot about the fear of failure — and how fast time moves. In this month's newsletter: Unpacking last month's heavy question, some good news from my surgeon, and my Oura Ring story blew up on LinkedIn.

For years, I loved the idea of Comma AI, but I was hesitant to give it a try. Then about 2 months ago, I gave in, bought and installed the Comma 4 in my Ford Lightning and I’m so glad I did.

I vibe'd a web app this morning that tracks your oura ring battery health over time. it's the #1 issue with them, which makes total sense, but it'll give you a heads up if it's started to go bad or if a rogue update caused issues.

Amazon’s new order confirmation emails that list the product category and not what you actually bought are confusing af. Hopefully they change it back. I hate it.

Just wrapped up testing/copy for best 3D printers. man, that was a ton of work.. but a ton of fun, too. Looking forward to sharing it with you all soon.

Apple sent me an iPhone 17 Pro Max to test out iOS 27 and the new Siri stuff, and that has to be the smoothest transfer between phones I’ve ever experienced.

Multi-color 3D printers are amazing, but so wasteful. Multi-nozzle printers have to be the future of 3D printing. Here are two prints of the same model. One on the Snapmaker U1 which has four nozzles, one on the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2, with a single nozzle. Insane!
