Dad, Principal, passionate about levelling out the playing field. Its a tough gig but remains the most inspiring & hopeful profession. Views my own.

Our existing policy was phones off, locked in tutor rooms from arrival until end of day. We now have the pouches, which has all but stopped the regular offenders. Seems sensible, but can imagine a big change for some schools, going from possibly relaxed attitudes to zero tolerance.

The line between science fiction and science fact is getting thin. AI chips, autonomous systems, machines making decisions for themselves… suddenly the Terminator future doesn’t feel quite so fictional. The question isn’t whether we can. It’s whether we should.

Last full day here, so we went for a walk. It was like Jurassic park. What a wonderfully complex and contrasting place New Zealand is. I feel like I've seen more contrasting climates, landscapes and scenery in 3 weeks than any other place I've visited..

3 days to go for... ▪️the 'jumping in the air with A level results' pic ▪️the tweet from Jeremy Clarkson about his C and two Us (and that he has a fancy car) ▪️Honourable mention to the 9 year old genius (Maths or Comp Sci) ▪️Not forgetting the twins/triplets who all got 6 As

Football selling out too far? It's been monetised for decades. Fans have been priced out by silly ticket prices and multiple TV subscriptions, while competitions like the Champions League have been expanded to maximise revenue... it all became a product while we watched.
