I finished my first mosaic! I call I “The Heart of Cygnus.” The star is Sadr, and the Crescent Nebula (C27) is on the lower right. 📸 ASI533MC 35x300s 💾 Siril w/RCAstro scripts 📍Green Bank, WV 🔭 CarbonStar 150 #astrophotography

Excited to be setup at the Green Bank Star Quest at Green Bank Observatory! The first night had some fog shut us down, but hoping for good skies tonight! 🔭
Cloudless night finally! Got 3hrs of imaging on M16. Processed in Siril & Gimp. 36x300s exposures Bortle 6 Milton, GA 🔭
A very raw processing job of last night’s practice with the new telescope. I think I’m gonna like it. 🔭 M16-Eagle Nebula Carbonstar 150 8x300s stacked with flats and bias Processed in Siri with RCAstro tools Post process in GIMP

With all the cloudy skies around, I guess I’ll finally do some reading to try to improve my post-processing! Anyone read this yet? 🔭 @siril.org
First try at M101 - Pinwheel Galaxy with the new rig. Thanks to the incoming clouds and the multitude of #Starlink satellites, I only had 16 usable frames out of 30. I only used the Apple editing tools on my iPad, and I used no flats when stacking, as my flats caused more problems than they fixed!🔭
U in WV at my parents getting ready for a presentation on Thursday. Setup my rig in their yard, and noticed Jupiter & Venus saying hi! 🔭
At 4:45 AM EDT tonight the Moon will reach full illumination for the second time this month. This will also be a “micro moon” as it occurs at apogee, the point in the moon’s elliptical orbit when it is farthest from the Earth, therefore appearing smaller than usual. Get out and look up! 🔭
Waiting for the clouds to clear up in about a week so I can get this back out again! 🔭 #astrophotography
Imaging rig in action! I’m still new to this setup, so I’m just practicing everything. But I got a cool sign! 🔭
I was honored to spend time this morning talking with the kindergarteners at a local elementary school. We talked about nebulas and Artemis 2! I ❤️ working with younger kids! 🔭

Today we just received our new @celestronuniverse.bsky.social Nexstar 8SE! This scope is now part of the astronomy program at FCS Innovation Academy in Alpharetta, GA. I can’t wait for the students to get their hands on this! 🔭
M 51 - Whirlpool Galaxy 151 minutes of 10-second exposures from my Bortle 5 backyard in metro Atlanta. This was over several nights with a #Seestar S50. AI denoise used. 🔭
Hey! I recognize that judge! It was an honor to be a judge at this year’s @aas.org #ChamblissAward competition. I hope to do it again sometime! The future of astronomy is bright! 🔭 aas.org/posts/news/2...

40 years since Challenger. I wrote a post about my memories. Please excuse my website. It’s very raw and I’m changing it daily, because I’m not sure where to go with it. www.stellarvisions.space/blog/remembe...

The students in my astronomy class are learning about H-R diagrams today. They not only got to draw a graph on the tables but they learned about how color, mass, and temperature are related, as well as what the term”main sequence star” means! 🔭 #astronomy #STEAM #STEM
I was so excited to visit Kitt Peak for the first time! I was not expecting snow, but the clouds are pretty much par for the course…. 🔭 #AAS247
Today was day 2 of #AAS247 and was the day we presented our poster! We appreciate everyone that stopped to talk to us! Thanks for the experience @lrebull.bsky.social and @caltechipac.bsky.social! 🔭
