My next book, fiction again, sf this time. More than one person I follow on Bluesky has raved about it and the reviews seem solid, so let's take a chance and see what we've got. Since the book apparently begins with civilization ending let's pair it with that pinnacle of civilization--the Martini.
Finally finished my reread of LotR 50 years after reading them for the 2nd time, probably just out of high school. Excellent books that hold up well. I am ashamed it took me almost 4 months finish. I blame it on Trump because reading real news he often engenders chews into my casual reading time.
