I’m back home in the 901 and going through one hell of a season with breast cancer. So today, I’m asking my people to show my Healing Fund a little Memphis love. If 901 people gave just $9.01… 👀💗 spot.fund/MarlasHealin... #901Day #Memphis #BreastCancerJourney #CancerSucks #HealingJourney
Jamaican parents will recommend tea before they’ll recommend almost anything else. Honestly…they’ve earned my respect. 😂🇯🇲 #Jamaican #CaribbeanCulture
Healing isn’t linear. Some mornings I wake up feeling like myself. Some mornings I don’t. Both count. #HealingJourney #BreastCancer
I talked about managing stress while navigating real life in my latest YouTube video. If you’re carrying a lot right now, I hope it encourages you. 🎥 https://f.mtr.cool/qrmjgzvgps #MentalHealth #HealingJourney

As a swim coach, one of the first things I teach is to breathe. Funny how life keeps bringing me back to that lesson. #SwimCoach #LifeLessons

People say, “Take it one day at a time.” Turns out that’s actually pretty solid advice. I’ve stopped trying to solve next month while I’m still living today. #HealingJourney #BreastCancer
One of the biggest lessons cancer has taught me is that people often give advice because they love you. But sometimes what you really need isn’t advice. You just need someone willing to sit with you. I unpack that in my newest video. 🎥 https://f.mtr.cool/sodttufqrp #BreastCancer #HealingJourney

I’ve realized there’s a difference between eliminating stress and learning how to live through it. I’m still figuring that out one day at a time. I shared more of those thoughts in my latest video if you’d like to watch. 🎥 https://f.mtr.cool/vphmozhoho #HealingJourney #RealLife

People keep telling me, “Don’t stress.” I know they mean well. But when you’re navigating breast cancer, caregiving, medical bills, and trying to hold onto some version of normal… it’s not that simple. I talked about that in my latest video. 🎥 youtu.be/gpsSlmUdl9Q #BreastCancer #MentalHealth

A reminder to myself: You don’t have to have everything figured out to keep moving forward. #LifeLessons #Healing
Life is weird. One minute you’re planning international education conferences. The next minute you’re comparing applesauce brands. #RealLife #HealingJourney
Current hobbies include: • doctor’s appointments • hydrating • pretending I don’t need a nap #BreastCancer #DarkHumor
God has met me in places I never wanted to be. And somehow that’s become part of the story. #Faith #HealingJourney
I’m learning that faith isn’t always certainty. Sometimes it’s taking the next step anyway. #FaithJourney #RealLife
What’s something a sport taught you about life? #SportsLife #Learning
One thing swimming taught me: Fighting the water usually makes things worse. #SwimCoach #LifeLessons
Some seasons are for building. Some are for healing. The hard part is knowing which season you’re in. #LifeLessons #Healing
I used to measure my worth by what I produced. I’m trying to measure it differently now. #PersonalGrowth #Healing
Rest still feels unnatural to me. I’m working on that. #HealingJourney #Rest
Educators: what’s one thing you wish people understood about your job? #TeacherLife #Education
The best educators I know are still learning. The moment you think you’ve arrived, you’ve stopped growing. #EducationLeadership #LifelongLearning
After years in education, one thing I know for sure: Kids learn best when they feel seen. Everything else starts there. #Education #TeacherLife
If you’ve never had proper Jamaican cocoa tea, I don’t know how to explain the comfort you’re missing. #JamaicanFood #CaribbeanCulture
Being Jamaican-American means having relatives on multiple continents and somehow still ending up in the same WhatsApp group. #JamaicanDiaspora #Family
Jamaican parents really believed one cup of tea could solve at least 75% of life’s problems. Honestly… they weren’t always wrong. #Jamaican #CaribbeanLife
