It is cooler today, so after days of over-heated lethargy, Matilda is full of beans…

Photos. Theatre. Baking. Reading. Films. Writing. Most of these things are constantly interrupted by Henry and Matilda the cats. Arsenal fan, so generally of uncertain mood. Cambridge, UK. She/her.
A nice thing - King’s College harvests its wildflower meadow every year with beautiful horses and traditional equipment. I went to see it this morning.
Last night’s game was just mad, joyful fun - tonight’s could be a grim old business. Anyway, Vamos Espana!🇪🇸 #thefootball
Awful. But it’s been so much fun (up till now…)! That night in the Azteca was something else… #thefootball
As so often before, I wish I had the strength to just take myself out for a really long walk… #thefootball
I realise that the football and the heat have combined forces to render me a mere shell of the woman I once was.
Yesterday Bonnie Tyler died which was sad, and I played the cat I am looking after Total Eclipse Of The Heart and Holding Out for A Hero in tribute, which the cat appeared to enjoy. Today Ann Widdecombe died. I did not bother to mention it to the cat.
We have been looking after my daughter’s cat this week while she and her wife are away, and being 95% fluff, Mimi has thoughts on this heat…
My alarm goes off in two hours but I wouldn’t have missed that for the world… #thefootball
In which Henry does not understand the bladeless fan and attempts to catch the air coming out of it…🤦🏼♀️
My view at 6am today. Because even in a heatwave, Matilda does not believe in personal space.
I feel really sad for Arsenal fans who can’t watch tonight because the game isn’t on free-to-air - especially as I have the required channel but am probably too anxious to watch. (I hid in the kitchen for most of the last few Premiership games…)
Just told Henry he needs to step up and be Prime Minister. He was initially surprised but I explained about Wes Streeting and now he’s fully on board and ready to serve.
Just for once I would like a break from Instagram ads telling me ‘You’re old!’ ‘Take collagen!’ ‘Do weights!’ ‘Relax! Right now!’ ‘Lose weight!’ ‘You’re a mess!’. Guys, I came to look at nice things people are doing. These days I can barely see them through the bullying.
So either I ordered a sofabed which came today or Henry met a genie and wished for the biggest cardboard box in the world.
We have spent the long weekend so far redecorating the daughter’s old bedroom and miraculously, Matilda is not green…
I accept that Henry’s big handsome face cannot improve the news, but it’s still nice to look at, so I offer it here.
Henry has strong feelings about me trying to watch the figure skating tonight.
Daffodils and snowdrops and hellebores, oh my - on this 275th and final day of January, some hope of spring for my fellow SAD-sufferers out there, from Anglesey Abbey this morning!
#DuvetKnowItsChristmas first one at the in-laws, my wife’s bedroom now rightfully belongs to foster cats (and we have brought our own bemused ragdoll) so we’re in with the bitcoin machine being watched over by a Clanger and Gary Numan, with an honourable mention to the two (2) banjoleles @rhodri.biz
The girls came round to open their wedding presents. Matilda was a big fan.
Yesterday the daughter married her girlfriend. It was a completely wonderful day - plus I am now a mother-in-law which is obviously a very young and hip thing to be…
