Who is this fuzzy yellow bumblebee? Seen in Western Washington, Lewis County. Is anyone a #BeeSky expert? I don’t see any broad black stripes nor an orange area on this bee, it is mainly yellow, and iNaturalist only seems to have certainty that it is a bumblebee. #Bees #FlyDay 📷🐝🙏

I was listening This Vast Enterprise by Craig Fehrman from Libby and found it fascinating. Thinking about it days after I returned it early, having been very disturbed with the passages on the party eating dogs. 🥺 It is once again on hold for me so I can finish the story. #Booksky

I particularly enjoyed learning about Sacajawea (who was totally amazing) and the native plants and animals discovered on the journey. Helps me to understand why so many of the Latin plant names contain reference to Meriwether Lewis.

Wetlands along the Willapa Rails-to-Trails near Chehalis WA produce a bumper crop of Pacific Chorus Frogs this time of year. The small frogs climb up on the trailside teasel where they can find insects and stay above the garter snakes patrolling below. #FrogFriday #Herps #PNW

Also known as the Pacific tree frog (Pseudacris regilla) can be shades of greens, browns, and bronzes, and have been known to change colors over a period of hours and weeks. They are quintessentially Pacific Northwest.
