Halfway through 2026, Spartans have dropped off 744,000 pounds of recycling at our public drop off center! Open 7 days a week, everyone is welcome to use this free service located at 468 Green Way.

For the 5th straight year, the MSU Surplus Store & Recycling Center hosted engineers from the Takenaka Corporation in Japan! Every summer MSU welcomes a group mid level engineers from Takenaka for construction management training, including a visit to our LEED Certified building.

We had a fantastic time hosting an event for the Michigan 4-H Exploration Days! Youth from around the state got to explore our facility, hear from a panel of student employees, and make an upcycled craft!

Through May, Spartans have recycled over 600,000 lbs of material at our drop-off! Located at 468 Green Way, this recycling drop-off is open 7 days a week for your cardboard, plastic, paper, metal, & books!

Results are in for Campus Race to Zero Waste. For the third straight year, Spartans sorted the most cardboard during the competition! We also finished first in the categories for bottle/cans and paper.
