The MTA has awarded the construction contract for full station rehabilitations at Bellerose and Floral Park. The work will include a new Bellerose elevator and the replacement of Floral Park’s escalator with a wider, modern one—improving accessibility and customer experience at both stations.

The new Yaphank-BNL station is officially open, with service beginning Saturday, July 18. It is fully accessible and better connected to Brookhaven National Laboratory and the East End's major roadways.

Penn Station will be open with regular LIRR service on Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3, but there will be access restrictions at the request of the NYPD. Customers traveling through Penn Station should use the 34th Street and 7th Avenue entrance. There will be no entry from 33rd Street.
