@leahapp.bsky.social @chara--c.bsky.social & Saskia Zielińska ! Plus commentary from @phoebesmartin.bsky.social. What a treat to share a space with these gals! Do come along to session 1311 on Friday the 29th at 5.15 ! #LASA2026. Plus drop your session below, because the programme is LONG.
Already getting into the #LASA2026 spirit as the conference starts next week! I'll present part of my PhD research in the panel "Feminist Movements and Democratic Futures: Reproductive Justice and Anti-Violence Struggles in Argentina, Colombia and Cuba", alongside [...]

I found some of you already, but friends: when are you presenting at #LASA2026? That program is MASSIVE.
Bien latinoamericano el aviso de último momento. Por suerte creo que también va a predominar un espíritu solidario en la conferencia, así que @mapicone.bsky.social tranqui que cables no van a faltar (espero). #LASA2026
I love it that #LASA2026 just now told us to bring HDMI cables and adapters, when many of us have already left for Paris. #CanIBorrowYourHDMI ?

Today there’s a federal strike in Argentina to defend the public university. Specifically, to protest against the government refusing to comply with the law, which mandates a salary restoration (in 3 years the purchasing power of university salaries has gone down 50%). #12M
I'm excited to share a new paper that's now available OA in Signs: www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.1086/... We put forward a framework for a “feminist abortion,” which aspires to centre the person seeking abortion and their needs & to factoring in the power structures in which they are situated.

Exciting news from the UK (England and Wales)! 🙌 People will no longer be prosecuted for ending their own pregnancies, even outside of a clinical setting.
Today, the law has changed. The Crime and Policing Bill has received Royal Assent - meaning women are no longer criminalised for ending their own pregnancy. After more than 10 years of campaigning, this is a landmark moment for compassionate, evidence-based care.
Hahahaha in Argentina we actually use “re” as slang for “very”, so it would make complete sense to say that… and why have I never thought of this?! “Mi día fue (no) re-productivo”… qué oportunidad perdida de chistazo.
My husband asked how my day was and I said good, it was productive, and he was like have you ever made the joke that "My day was productive -- REproductive" and I was like no
Laugh-crying remembering all those memes about how, if you want to finish that paper/chapter/etc., there’s no way around it but… sitting down and writing? Who allowed this to happen? #phdchat
