my mom learned this trick for storing scraps of fabric from her quilt guild and i feel somewhat evangelical about it!

I am working on a freestyle quilt with blocks designed by children, it is to be a gift but it is too charming not to share. EPP with appliqué and embroidery #quiltsky

four hand-pieced quilt blocks, beginning in upper left and moving clockwise: somewhat unbalanced version of a traditional block made up of squares & triangles in green, blue, and brown - one square highlighted with green blanket-stitch embroidery with a few cute little mushrooms fussy-cut into the middle. 2nd - square divided roughly in half diagonally in blue and green with peach appliqués of a home and a heart on either side and a blue-and-yellow square spiral in the middle. 3rd - divided into fourths diagonally in green and brown with a different mushroom fabric featuring. the angles are notably not square. 4th two gray mountains in front of a cloudless sky, a yellow-and-peach tree with a purple topper as large as the mountains appliquéd in between.

Found this recipe for cleaning spots out of clothing at the historical museum today, sharing in case anyone needs it 😊 Haven’t tried it out myself yet.

DR. C. BENNETT'S RECIPE for the Great Nonpareil Spot Remover For Dress Goods and Clothing LET US DEMONSTRATE! This Recipe is Only One Dollar (Recipe is not transferable) Chloroform 2 oz. Concentrated Ammonia 2 oz. Grain Alcohol 188 proof 4 oz. Hydrogen Peroxide 1 1/2 oz. Sulphide of Ether 1 1/2 oz. Tincture of Contharides 1 1/4 oz Pulverized Borax 1/2 drm. Table Salt 1 tablespoonful Filtered Gasoline 1 gallon To take out ink stains, dampen the stain with cold water, and then cover it with soda (½ inch in thickness), leave it for about one hour or more, till the stain completely disappears. It does not leave a mark after treatment. YOU MUST BE SURE AND USE A SPONGE FOR CLEANING IN ORDER TO GET BEST RESULTS. THIS RECIPE IS FOR ONE GALLON
