I think I stumbled upon one of the coolest things I thrifted in a long while today, something I’ve never seen before too - a 8086 microcontroller development board! (assembly manual included)
Example of a Sega VCD menu from my program to make new sega vcd discs. It can identify the roms and slots they are in and generate the VCD menus. Press the button on the front of the player and it loads the game. Still lots to do but have the basic functionality I wanted.
A kit I don't know much about labeled DMG ICE. Most of the units I see are the newer gameboy color and gameboy advanced kits.
Finally got around to fixing one of these so I can have a reliable test unit. Drive needed a new belt and laser pickup. Took me a while to figure out all the plastic clips holding it together.
Another VCD related gizmo for a game console. This attachment allowed a Playstation to play VCD discs. I remember wanting one as a kid because it would allow to play anime fansubs on a 'big' tv. Was outside what I could afford though.
From a 2016 PRGE trip. My friend won the 360 slim xdk for cheap cause no one bid and sold it to me cause I had to leave early. I didn't have any Vic-20 games and always like having at least some carts. The Nintendo binders I wonder what I did with.
A side quest I went on that has kind of grown for me is a creating a photo management application with an LLM made specifically for me. I'm finally organizing all my photos and able to find them and connect them into others systems (such as a social media tool). (1/3)

Man I miss this game. I borrowed a switch (and weirdly still don't own one). to play this game for a month. Was really sad when it disappeared.
Old photo from 2017 but one I like. Huge junk lot of Famicom from Japan. Sold through a lot of these. My friend who was completely uninterested in old video games but was helping me out to this day remember how to clean the controllers to get rid of the buzz.
Decided to buy a GameKing because it was cheap. Don't really know any thing about this system or if this one even works.
Finally bought a pair of solder tweezers. Hope they don't suck. Now I just need to clean my work bench and get everything arranged.
My latest Japan order. I always wanted the IBM version of the PC-FX GA and went crazy trying to get one. A Playstation VCD Adapter and just the jewel case version of Rockman X4 for PC. Good little haul.
Taking placeholders down for the Playstation memory cart controller port parts. At this point I'd rather direct time and funds towards projects I find more interesting. I'll keep the waitlist in case I revive it in the future.
Picked up a Blu Ray drive and flashed it with the OmniDrive firmware. Because apparently I'll never have enough special optical drives.
Another pickup. Mega Drive 2 clone. Looking forward to digging into this.
Continuing on my Sega VCD obsession I managed to get my hands on several different version of the Genesis board that is included inside different players including some clone variants.
Recently got a small restock of Metal Dreamcast emblems. The last batch disappeared somewhere in California with a bunch of other things I had wanted.
Recently I've been doing a ton of research of Sega VCD Players and games. I recently managed to get several sets of discs including the packaging. Hopefully soon I can dump each set figure out which ones match up and what games they have.

This is so cool. I'm glad Derek was able to crack this puzzle. We talked about this years ago and he explained that the protection was complicated. Now all 8 of us can enjoy VCDs on the Dreamcast :D
