A lone female blue whale, cruising along the coast of California in summer, is heading towards nearby a warm of krill as seen by the red stain that is meant to resemble the swarm.

There is no other marine mammal that has genuinely become one of the ocean's iconic giants, and the blue whale is no exception.

100 million krill are devoured by the gargantuan ballooning throats that blue whales slowly line up and open their massive mouths that possess baleen to trap the krill, satisfying its huge bulk. They've even been known to live up to around 80 to 90 years of age, and one was recorded to be 110 years of age.

Once there was 300,000 of these magnificent rorqual whales dominating every ocean around the world, but sadly, that number is now less than 5% thanks to commercial whaling that almost put them towards extinction.

Thankfully, the number is now at around 10,000 to 20,000 numbers, but even so, with ship collisions, noise pollution, and climate change threaten the very krill that the blue whales rely on for their survival..

It is without a doubt that blue whales still have a long way to recovering to their pre-whaling numbers, just as their relatives have done before.

A male Humphead Wrasse swims across the Indo Pacific coral reef, while a dazzling amount of tropical reef fish (including pompanos, orbicular batfish, orangeband surgeonfish, unicornfish (recycled from the giant grouper art) and blue green chromis, all of which are displayed to set the dazzling mood of the abundance of coral reefs.

Growing up, humphead wrasses always fascinated me because of their place in the food chain, as they’ve been documented to feast on the crown of thorn starfish that damages the coral reefs.

Moreover, it has been known that Humphead wrasses can in fact, change from female to male, as the female grows into adult size and undergoes a remarkable transformation into male, and the factors that are responsible for this gender transition are still being studied by marine biologists to this day.

A lone fin whale swims in the North Atlantic, driven on by the Gulf Stream originating from the Caribbean. Here, in the barren wilderness of the deep blue, the fin whale is looking for large schools of herring to sustain its massive weight.

Second largest besides the blue whale, fin whales (also known as the finback) they're most common in temperate oceans, where they gather in huge numbers to feast on schooling fish, squid, and krill.

Like all giant whales, they were once on the brink of extinction thanks to whaling, but with the ban of commercial whaling, most populations are on the long road to recovery, with the exception of the North Atlantic populations back to their pre-whaling numbers.

A male Tyrannosaurus Rex dominates his home in the Hell Creek Formation by a summer dawn, as he’s idly standing with trees, a fallen log, and a Triceratops skull which he ate from scavenging a corpse, along with the rest of the forests in the background.

It’s agreed upon that Tyrannosaurus Rex is the definitive non avian dinosaur of the Mesozoic, as it lived closer to human beings right before the asteroid struck the Gulf of Mexico 66 million years ago, making T-rex the last non avian dinosaur along with the rest of the dinosaurs of Hell Creek and elsewhere to go extinct around the world.

Over the years in paleoart, Tyrannosaurus went from dragging its tail in a tripod pose, then lifted itself horizontally albeit underweight starting in the 1980s to 90s, and was initially depicted as fast active predator, before inevitably becoming much more heftier as a result of the gastralia (belly ribs) that depicted as much more bulky compared to Jurassic Park’s T-rex, thanks to Prehistoric Planet.

Now, with all that being said: It wasn’t easy getting this T-rex redrawn from last year, to which I spent the last two months working on redesigning the Tyrannosaurus because I wasn’t happy with the redesign from last year due to the green colors not working for me. I added a dark reddish look, made touchups to the lacrimal horns, and added a row of tiny hair like feathers to prove T-rex is feathered, similar to modern elephants with tiny hairs across their bodies.

Now, after weeks of painstaking work, I finally did it. Hope I did the tyrant lizard king justice!
