By Friday I plan to have a least 3 new applications. An email service notifier, that tells the email service to write an email, that tells the smtp service to send and email. I think I use a message queue, GRPC, and a postgres DB for some outbox pattern. Too complicated, Hold my beer 🍻

Just had a two day planning session, what started with “we have too much complexity” ended with “we need microservices”, so confused

Surly I’m the one with an IT Director who actually wants us to start spinning up countless microservices?

Really enjoying minimal APIs in #asppnet #dotnet, being able to easily define a bunch on endpoints inside a nugget package and plug them into the applications authorization flow and middleware is amazing.

Fairly minimal program setup to get things all wired up. Optional middleware providers a mechanism to process all exceptions #dotnet

Just wrapped up a little framework for AI assistant function callbacks. Pretty happy with the API, just create a decorate a class. The functions are (optionally) added and removed from assistant automatically and executed when requested with strongly typed arguments. #dotnet #openai

Yesterday I was teaching a coworker some reflection code, nothing too gnarly. Seeing his face light up with surprise made me feel like #dotnet is the GOAT due to the many meta program paradigms it supports.

Everyone should learn some functional programming. Not to imply everyone should use it, but exposing yourself to the paradigms will make you a better developer in any language.

Fell off the advent of code pretty hard. Something about deploying 5 new production application consumed all my mental gymnastics. I managed to get 5 gold stars with f# a language I know nothing about and I’ll probably pick it back up when the dust settles. Great job to the creators.

Today I discovered a special kind of hell updating a legacy angular project.

#adventofcode just might prove once and for all I'm very bad at reading comprehension. "Only the most recent do() or don't() instruction applies" I literally can't read or brain is wired different.

I’ve never tried advent of code before but I plan to start it this year. Haven’t decided if I’ll use F# or Gleam. I started learning both a while ago and never got the opportunity to use either. I figure this is a good way to explore the languages further.
