Building bridges using words - Overthinking online safety for kids - On the road towards Child Advocacy+Policy MA | marie.mxiety[at]gmail|🏳️‍🌈she/her https://mxiety.com

Hey streamer friends! I'm getting the word out about a 45-min training that helps mods prepare for mental health situations in communities. Developed by streamers and a game researcher, run by a team working to reduce male violence. Feedback so far says it helps, but we'd love to hear your opinion!

If someone could spell *Diseny* on a toy that was sold at one of their parks... you can forgive yourself for typos too. I've had this plush for likely 10+ yrs. I've hugged it on bad days, my kid drooled on it. It's no worse of a companion or comfort because of this typo. Will love it for 10 yrs more

H E L L O W O R L D Grown tired of reducing all of my opinions down to nothing, I've come back to Bsky to set them free. Updates: Working on my MAs in Child Advocacy and Policy, internships, contracts, research, raising tiny human. Who else is on here worrying about our kids online? Help me find em!

Being real is great. Being yourself is amazing. Feeling safe being yourself 🤌. Keeping pieces of you just for you is good emotional hygiene. All too often, people want creators to be authentic but what they mean is "someone who gives their whole selves" like it's owed.

The anxiety of making conversations about me has been taking up lots of bandwidth and I've spent lots of time stressing that I upset someone by sharing myself. Now when a convo starts I start by framing my planned answers to be 1 of 3 ▪️relating ▪️listening ▪️supporting It's helped

On this extra day let me send you an extra reminder that doing something positive for you will bloom into kindness for others. But time spent doing something you hope will get you extra points from someone else is better spent on finding why other's opinions of you matter so much to you.

What's your favorite way of helping others? If you said you're tired of always being the helper, this chat is for you. If you need a place to rest, this chat is for you. If you need a place to get down and boogie, this is still the place Mxiety on Twitch 💚💜 Short stream live now! 🔴

An article I wrote about not being able to "JUST" not have depression blew up on Medium. My conclusion? We need to stop teaching people that everything needs to have a solution, and it's ok if a solution is just -living with the problem-.

I did it! I was emotionally beating myself up and not at all motivating to myself but then I went and posted up and scheduled my new blog to go live on Wednesday. Idk if this comes easily to some people, but it does not feel easy to me. But I did it anyway. Eat it, Anxiety and ADHD!

Today, I hope you can praise yourself for taking time to rest just like when you're traditionally productive. Less: "I'm so lazy!" And more: "Hell yeah, look at me making tea and putting on a favorite show. I know this helps me do my best later, even though today is harder than I'd like"

Xitter needs to be done please. I can't keep checking it just to get upset at its state. But I need to find more friends! Lemme know if ♥️we were moots before ♥you want someone bugging you to selfcare all the time ♥️you like streamers, writers and overthinkers ♥️you like star trek and/or wars

Ok I need to ask, are people not on here or is my account broken. I've been quiet because everytime I log in I legit see the same 4 people posting. I followed a decent amount of people and thought people migrated here but now it's been quiet so I've had nothing to add too. Halp pwes

On one hand, imposter syndrome 😟 On the other, I always get to be surprised whenever people DO want me in the room/helping/working with me. And who doesn't like a pleasant surprise?

Hey, ADHD buddies! How big are your "I have to leave this in front of me on my desk or I'll never remember to do it" piles? Are they all notebooks too?

If you're upset you can't seem to figure out next steps in your life, it's a huge sign that it's time to think about who 🌟you🌟 are not what you can do. You'll be productive but in the right order: You->What new you can produce

Reframe "I never get opportunities" to "It's ok to admit that I'm tired from pushing through the system, but all my work will pay off as I keep trying. Even if I need to rest a second before pressing forward again" I know, I know it doesn't roll off the tongue

I need to talk more about how I am in a better place with my mental health but still stressed. Idk about you, but stress used to be equal to low depression swings but now it's just stress. Not all stressy is depressy and that's just... different? You know what I mean?

It's bisexual awareness week! Just so you're aware, every time you embrace a new part of yourself, you gain super powers. Super powers: Self-kindness, self-actualization, confidence to try new things after you stop thinking you're just a no good weirdo.* *batteries not included

Do I know any Ted Lasso fans here who want to write about it academically/acessably by chance? This space is a small circle so let me know if you wanna chat 👀

Stream happening in a few minutes. I've got exciting announcements coming out the wazzoo. Feelin good about this, and I know you will too. See ya soon on Twitch, Mxiety 3-5 PM ET

I'm sorry I have no idea how to simply answer a question. I need to give you all the backstory and the lore so you have context. Are you trying to tell me a simple "Sure" will cover that? I don't think so.

I really want to give myself credit. I've been unmedicated for my ADHD since 2021 when I decided I wanted to have a baby. That's 2 years that I've been cobbling together productivity and neuronormity from scraps of gamer dopamine at best. Please clap.
