Andy Burnham may offer a different tone, but disabled people need guarantees. Protect PIP, invest in services and stop creating employment policies without disabled people involved. cutt.ly/OyrWEZAp

Happy MPS Awareness Day 💜 Today was my weekly Vimizim infusion for Morquio syndrome. Forgive the rather distressing-looking image, it’s nowhere near as traumatic as it looks. Living with MPS IV isn’t easy, but awareness, research and support matter. 🔗 cutt.ly/StVSIey9 #MPSAwarenessDay #Morquioq

After a rough day yesterday, I took two hours to myself in the warm weather. Wandering around Greencastle reminded me why we must protect the Sperrins. Our land. Our water. Our air. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. #SaveOurSperrins

I've recently started using otter.ai in meetings. I find it increasingly difficult to keep notes at the many meetings I'm at, both in person and hybrid, due to my severe hearing loss and lack of dexterity in hands. I feel more confident now.

“Just left your parcel at the door.” For me, that can mean no way in or out of my own home. Blocked access isn’t an inconvenience. It’s a barrier. Delivery companies need to do better. #Accessibility #Disability #Disabled #DisabledLife #AccessDenied

Happy Easter everyone. Hope you get a decent break this weekend. I’m taking a bit of personal time too. Might see the odd message, but I’m off-work for a few days. Back soon 👍 #Disability #Disabled ##DisabledLife
Recorded an interview today for the Save Our Sperrins podcast. Spoke about my work in deaf & disabled advocacy, and the clear parallels with the fight in Greencastle and across the Sperrins. Episode drops this weekend. Subscribe: buttonsoptions4u.podbean.com/%E2%81%A0
This is a warning. A disabled man died during a plane transfer. Not an isolated incident. A system failure. This risk exists in the UK and Ireland too. “Nothing went wrong” isn’t safety. cutt.ly/8tPGeYWR
Clocks go forward 1 hour Sunday at 1am. You lose an hour. We lose routine, stability, control. Missed meds. Exhaustion. Days thrown off. It’s not about how much time you have. It’s how it affects others. “Just an hour” can be the difference between coping and not.
Started writing the odd blog again and honestly, I’ve missed it. Thinking of making it regular. Maybe twice a month. Not just disabled issues. My take on whatever’s happening in the world. Though let’s be real, disability will probably feature heavily. Worth doing?
35 years ago today, I had spinal surgery that changed my life. It shaped how I see access, inclusion and why I challenge systems today. This isn’t theory. It’s lived experience. Read: cutt.ly/XtOGGQqq
Yesterday was one of those real, honest days. Up to Belfast City Hospital for a check up on my Morquio, a few things to watch but not bad going. Stopped at the Glenavon Hotel, staff were brilliant. Disabled life is quiet battles and small wins.
