Congratulations to JC Bradbury of Kennesaw State on being elected as president-elect of NAASE and to Jeremy Losak of Syracuse University on being elected as an at-large executive committee member. And congratulations of Eva Leeds of Moravian College as she moves from president-elect to president.

Thank you to all of the presenters and participants in NAASE's sessions at the 2026 Western Econ meetings. We will have sessions in 2026-27 at the Missouri Valley (Omaha), Southerns (Houston), Easterns (New York), and Westerns (Honolulu). We hope to see you there!

Many thanks to the presenters and attendees in NAASE's sessions at the recent Southern Econ. Assoc. conference in Tampa for interesting papers and insightful comments. We hope to see the attendees again soon and hope others will join us at upcoming conferences.

We are pleased to announce that Aiden Powell from West Virginia University is this year’s recipient of NAASE’s Graduate Student Paper Award for his paper “Professional Sporting Events and Emergency Medical Service Response Times: Evidence from New York City.” (1/3)

With the WEA conference wrapping up today, we want to thank presenters and other participants for 7 good sessions and great informal conversations. We had participants from every continent other than Antarctica! We hope everyone has a safe trip home and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Jill Harris recently completed a four-year term on NAASE's executive committee. We are grateful for her service, including organizing NAASE's sessions at the WEA conference (something she will continue to do). Thank you Jill! Clay Collins of UGA is joining the EC. Welcome Clay!

We are excited to announce the creation of the Coates-Humphreys NAASE Distinguished Research Award, with Dennis Coates and Brad Humphreys as the inaugural winners. It will be given in odd-numbered years (the Hadley Award is given in even-numbered years). Congrats Brad & Dennis!
