David and I are headed across the country via train! We have a sleeper car for our two day journey and lots of books for this trip celebrating our thirtieth anniversary. 💕❤️🇺🇸🚂🚞🚊

These flowers in Grant Park are bigger than a dessert plate!

After COVID, I’ll always get a little misty eyed over joyful crowds. #Lollapalooza
It was so wonderful to spend time in Chicago with my dear friend Shannon, who was an ever-present friend and comfort while raising babies in Kentucky! It had been a hot minute.
I love the bustling life that happens in these pretty Chicago apartment buildings.
Check out the bowl of maple syrup, honey, canola oil, and vanilla before I stirred. The vanilla made a perfect pretty circle!
In case anyone was wondering, Higgins is a good boy. 🦮

Ladies, wear your sports bras if you see the Odyssey in 4D. It was like sitting in one of those manicure massage chairs while getting hit in the face with a water gun on a rollercoaster with air being blown in your ear like your dating Matt Damon.
Odyssey in 4D. Let’s gooo!!
One of my favorite things? Well written non-fiction. Check out the first paragraph of this 1980 Chicago Reader article “The Miracle Worker” by Mike Lenehan. Wow.

I pulled up a map. Naomi asked me, “is that the explosive diarrhea map?” No, I said. It’s the ‘toxic air from the fires’ map. 😅#2026
Have you guys seen these self driving wheelchairs at airports? I’m at O’Hare and talked to one lady who was riding in one… in a meandering sort of pattern. ‘I can’t control it!’ she said! 😳 wild! I’d settle for a plane that leaves on time.
Did you guys know Audible had this function? You can follow along with the text as the book is read!
The Chicago sky changes so rapidly, it’s like having a movie screen for a window. This was about a 45 minute time period on a typical day. Amazing!
I'm having so much fun writing a book that I'm lamenting the two upcoming words: 'the end.' I've written 4 of 5 parts and the joy of putting pen to paper is just hard to describe. It might be a little like getting to the end of reading a long enjoyable book, but multiplied!
