CGS engages at UN climate meetings in Bonn and London Climate Action Week | Center for Global Sustainability

This morning I attended UN Secretary General António Guterres’s special address at London Climate Action Week, which clearly linked the global energy and climate crises and offered a near-term solution through low-cost, reliable, and secure clean energy.

I’m excited to be on the ground at London Climate Action Week with @rynacui.bsky.social and @jiehonglou.bsky.social. We are looking forward to connecting with those here and sharing new @ctrglobsust.bsky.social research on the roles of subnational actors in achieving ambitious #ClimateAction.

I had a great couple of weeks connecting and engaging in the Bonn UNFCCC #JuneClimateMeetings (SB64). We had many good conversations about the situation in the U.S. and other countries.

Today at #COP30: @ctrglobsust.bsky.social, @newclimate.bsky.social, and @nlenvironagency.bsky.social hosted an event showcasing how policymakers and stakeholders at all levels can raise climate ambition to support #ParisAgreement goals.

Last week @americaisallin.com launched a new report, led by @ctrglobsust.bsky.social, that outlines potential pathways for the U.S. to still achieve climate goals aligned with the Paris Agreement.

Tomorrow at 9:00am EDT, UN SG António Guterres will deliver an address on the state of global #ClimateAction. This is a critical moment for #ClimatePolicy as countries develop their NDCs and as the need to address climate challenges becomes more urgent.
