After the recent russian missile attack on an apartment building in Lviv, our Hachiko team was there to support. We met Natasha, who cared for 16 Ukrainian cats—2 died. Her home was destroyed & she’s now living in temporary housing. We brought food for her traumatized kitties. 🥺

This McDonald’s in La Guaira, Venezuela has been turned into a veterinary clinic for earthquake survivors and I’m lovin’ it. 🥹 This dog’s name is Brando.

Nearly 4 weeks after the earthquakes in Venezuela, families are still digging for their loved ones. In Playa Grande, I met Laura—she is trying to reach the body of her brother-in-law. It’s hard to put into words the devastation & trauma. We have to keep doing everything we can to help. ❤️‍🩹🇻🇪

Happy Caturday from our littlest Hachiko volunteer, Dani, who feeds displaced cats around his building in Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine. Dani and his mom Elena make sure all the homeless pets in the neighborhood are cared for. 😺

This week, we organized a special meal to bring the restaurant experience to kids in Gaza—here’s Chef Hamada in action! And of course, the team also fed the cats. 😸 We will do this regularly to provide some joy and dignity to children living in Gaza camps.

Caturday in Kherson in Ukraine now requires wearing body armor at all times. This is Denis—he keeps an eye out for Russian drones while making sure the cats get fed. 🙏

The Hachiko team visited the Ukrainian village of Cherkas'ki Tyshky outside Kharkiv. Before Russian occupation, 200 dogs lived here. Only 28 dogs survived. We brought food and medicine for residents here caring for them.

Some good news: Ukraine authorities arrested the suspect who gave coordinates to Russia that led to a double-tap missile strike which killed my friend Sergiy two years ago. He’s a PRIEST from the Moscow Patriarchate church in Odesa, recruited over Telegram. Justice will prevail.

Lunch for this kitty today after we refilled one of the Hachiko feeding stations near Pavlohrad, Ukraine. The netting behind her protects from Russian drones that swarm this area trying to kill anything that moves.

Greetings from Kyiv! I went to visit the For Freedom exhibit installed in tribute to foreigners who came to Ukraine to help defend freedom & democracy. I didn’t realize volunteers from 55 countries have served. This week I also met soldiers from Arizona, Georgia, and Texas. 🙏

These dogs were so happy to greet the Hachiko team bringing food+medicine. We met Diana who cares for them—she rescued 8 dogs and 2 cats, having found them in the forest and in an abandoned quarry. Diana also feeds 10 homeless dogs every day. Another everyday hero in Ukraine!

The death toll is up to 21 so far, including children. Families were sleeping in their beds when the missile hit and the building came down on them. Absolutely horrific, just like Russia did to Kharkiv 2 months ago. Praying for all.

I just drove by the apartment building hit by a Russian missile early this morning. Part of it collapsed—you can see the stairwell. Rescue workers on the roof trying to put out fires and get to injured. And more attacks are on the way—I just saw a drone get shot down. Pure evil.

Russia today attacked both a UN vehicle and WCK vehicle with drones in Ukraine. It’s a miracle nobody was hurt. This is all part of their “human safari” targeting civilians. Russia trains their drone pilots this way. @zarinazabrisky.bsky.social & @caolanrob.bsky.social made important films about it.

Kherson remains one of the most dangerous areas of Ukraine, with kamikaze drones targeting civilians daily (even during this weekend’s “ceasefire”). But that hasn’t stopped the Hachiko team bringing food to displaced dogs & cats who still live there. Here’s Denis working today:

Thanks to the Municipality of Beit Mery and Ministry of Agriculture, we delivered food & installed new Hachiko feeding stations for dogs 🐕 impacted by the war in Lebanon this week. Many animals were evacuated north away from fighting but there’s not enough space in pet shelters.
