We are the voice of affordable housing in England, representing the work of housing associations and campaigning for everyone to have the home they need – at the price they can afford.

We're sad to share that Rhys Moore, our Executive Director of Public Impact, is leaving the NHF later this year to take up a new role at Bromford Flagship LiveWest. Big thank you Rhys, for your outstanding contribution to the NHF and the wider housing association sector.

Hugely positive to see Andy Burnham put housing at the top of the agenda. With affordable delivery rising and momentum building, now is the time to build on this progress and accelerate the delivery of social homes across the country. Read our response to yesterday's speech:

Kate Henderson, Chief Executive of the National Housing Federation, said:

"Andy Burnham is absolutely right to say that everything starts with a good home and we strongly support his mission to put this at the top of our country's list of priorities.

"Latest figures show we are now building more social rent homes than in over a decade, demonstrating support for our sector is already making a difference on the ground.

“We want to keep this momentum going and continue working with local leaders and communities to drive the biggest boost to social housing since the post war period."

Latest figures show child homelessness is at a record high, with the number of households in temporary accommodation doubling in a decade and 68,000 households newly homeless in 2025. Housing associations are working to deliver the homes desperately needed to end this crisis.
