I’m going back to university to study full time. Has anyone had experience getting part time software development work for companies (probably contract basis) in Europe? 7+ years as a software developer for health technology, and insurance.

I think I have to swap from Sol to Opus 5. It just writes much cleaner, maintainable code. The analogy of Sol as a bulldog tearing it’s way through a task to get to the right output is just so so true.

I decided to throw my ingester into the deep end, and hit it with the vite repo. The ingester did perfectly fine. The sync to local? Not so much. But i’ll iterate.

Dang this sync stuff is pretty cool. I might be able to get a basic frontend up tomorrow. I’ve pretty much got the data pipeline down, gonna do some security testing, but otherwise, dang. I’d love to pressure test it with some peeps who have big public repositories. Maybe the npmx fam could help.

So I may've built a reactive store for Github. For repository owners you can set up a github app which syncs repo information and issues / PR's into a postgres database. This is maintained both via Webhooks, and manual reconciliation.

Some of the biggest twists in software development for me this year have been swapping 2 of my core tools for new ones. Still love JetBrains, but I mostly reach for Zed now, unless I'm working heavily in SQL or dotnet. zed.dev And I use fork for my Git client instead of Git Kraken git-fork.com
